Warning! This is a rant: Melodramatic Schedulers

If I run into them I won't work for them. I will complete whatever shop I have signed up for but after that we're done. Business is business and it has no place for amplified emotion. Empathy for a fellow human being yes but guilt trips and theatrics have no place. Anyone else feel the same?

Very definitely. And of course part of the issue is that these Drama Queens all too frequently are so wrapped up in their own angst that they don't accomplish their end of the job--scheduling you the correct location, the correct agreed upon price, sending the correct instructions if needed, responding to inquiries before-during-after the shop.
I agree with you. There are also some schedulers that are too high-strung and have no business being schedulers.

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
Hmm... Aside from being flat out ignored, I've been fortunate not to run into this type of scheduler. But I'm sure they've heard it all when it comes to excuses, reasons, and tales so being sympathetic and empathetic to all may take its toll after awhile. I'm sorry you had to go through this.

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
I have to mention the one that emailed me last year saying in the email title: "Please let my child have a Christmas!"

I used to do grocery shops for a certain company and I never heard a peep in 54 shops but one day, I got a long detailed diatribe about what was wrong with my shop. (okay).smiling smiley

So I read it and learned from it but realizing I had done MANY shops for them with 10's before and never a complaint, always compliments! So, two weeks go by and I get another letter commenting and nit-picking my entire grocery store shop, AGAIN by the SAME editor as the last one. ...

Since I tend to save everything... I went back to Day ONE and noted no editors had ever written me anything negative until this editor (let's call her Gladys) who btw---> (reminded me of the nosey neighbor on Bewitched who always stared out the window at Samantha and was always screaming, "Abner!!"winking smiley

So, I get a 3rd one from this lady Gladys. She is AGAIN nitpicking every-single-thing about my grocery shop. Now at this point, I have done and corrected her 100 nitpicky complaints, making absolutely SURE I did not repeat her nitpickery items. I never EVER got a good review from her! tongue sticking out smiley I finally said for all the work I was doing with her never-ending whining, it was not worth it so I stopped working for the company. I think she was NEW and wanted to score points for saying, "SEE! I am doing my job!" It made me quit that company.
Please help smiling smiley I am having an issue with a scheduler for a particular MSC. I have an excellent rating yet this specific scheduler, which happens to schedule most shops, never picks me for anything. I know I sound whiny but this has been going on for over a year now and I have yet to be selected for anything. The only time I perform an assignment for this company is via self-assign. Today I realized that I had dealt with her 2 years ago through another company but I didn't anything negative happened. Suggestions please?
You might try, "Hi, this is ____. Didn't I used to help you out over a ABC company a couple of years ago? I hope you are liking working with [current company] even more and I look forward to working with you again. And yes, I would be delighted to do the XYZ shop for you!" In general I have either been 'on' the 'favored few' list or 'off' of it for no understandable reason, but it never bugged me enough to do anything about it.
lilyellowfairy, you may never know. But, I would not take it personally. Perhaps competition in your area is fierce. The scheduler may have favorites. Who knows? If you see assignments that linger or reappear on the board, it is possible that may provide you with some oomph. If you have stiff competition, things may not change. If you see reposted assignments, or assignments that consistently remain on the board, there may be room to make inroads. Keep on submitting excellent work, in a timely fashion. Occasionally, consider taking a dog assignment. If there is opportunity to communicate directly with the scheduler, take advantage and attempt to establish rapport to build a relationship. Try to set yourself apart from the pack.
@lilyellowfairy:

Hi SchedulerName!
I just wanted to introduce myself, or maybe reintroduce myself since we worked on projects together in a different setting in the past. I'm lilyellowfairy, and I've really enjoyed working with MSCName. If I can ever help with any of your projects, and any time that you're in a bind, I'd love to lend a hand whenever I can.
If possible, might you be able to check on my shopper information for me. I've applied for oodles of shops every month for the past year but haven't been able to pick up a single job. If something's wrong with my info, I'd be glad to fix it. If you know of any other way that would help me improve my chances of being assigned, I'm certainly open to pointers and suggestions.
Thanks for any direction you can provide, and again, I look forward to working with you through MSCName!

Reminds of the scheduler who always gave only the postal code for all the shops on her email. She had no problem with me when I was doing all the shops she gave me without any question. However, when I told her I would complete the upscale shops she just gave me because they were already on my log. However, I was just asking where they were located because I could not find them in the mapquest. I did not expect them to be suddenly confirmed as my shops especially since there was a significant cash outlay.

She suddenly changed! She assigned me a shop, then cancelled it because she said it was supposed to be done the next month. Stupid me got it the next month. Then the shop was so disorganized and prematurely set that the test organization was not even ready for the transaction to be processed and my order had to wait another month. And of course after it was completed, I had several emails about it from different people. This was an international shop. Since the problem source was from them, I really got very frustrated and told them of the amount of time I had spent on the shop. The scheduler told me I should be ready to spend the time required. I asked them to remove my name from their d/base because I felt they should have organized the shop properly before assigning it. She became more upset because I had the audacity to bother her staff to asked to be removed. When I got paid, I emailed her to thank her but she was so angry. She never admitted that it was disorganized. Her main complaint was I asked to be removed from their d/base because she said I had a good record.

During the period I was with this MSC, I was even recruited twice for special group re exclusive upscale shops where the fee was exceptional but I declined. Only one scheduler left a bad taste in my mouth after having worked with her for a long time with very good record. I have no regret. Yes, speaking of melodramatic scheduler...
