Has anyone had a hard time getting a mystery shop with them? I am asking because I have been applying to jobs with them for a few weeks now with no luck. I am getting very frustrated with them. I normally do banking shops for another company and they assign them very quickly and easily. Any suggestions anyone?
It could be many things. If they have a mileage bonus on them then perhaps you are too far or someone closer also applied for them. They also tend to prefer using known shoppers over unknown. I think the first ones I did were very hard to fill locations for them.

These days, I get most of the shops that I apply for with them. In the beginning, before I established myself, it took some time to receive any assignments. I'm sure that it was end of month and they needed to get it done, so they chose a newbie. Keep applying for shops, it's worth it. They compensate very well, IMO, with their incentives.
I am fairly new but have gotten several shops from HC. The problem now is that I've done all the close shops and everything else is long distance.
Uh. That's a problem why? Long distance HC shops are significantly better than close ones. I've never done a close one (and probably won't).

Old car is a bummer. I find their distance shops to be the best as well since they pay enough to be an anchor allowing me to build a good route.

Yep! I love my car, but it's an oldie and I'm not sure how much pressure I should put on it to go outside my area!
Been there done that. My first few overnight routes were done in rental cars so I could decide if it was something I wanted to pursue before buying a new car.

If I were going to risk it, it would be for an HC shop. They pay well, including mileage, and are responsive to inquiries. I might venture out into my outskirts and see how that goes, but I can't afford a new car, so I do need to err on the side of caution.
