Marketforce (FF) shops....watch out!

I am absolutely livid about a bad MForce experience with a (FF) shop. So be careful if you take any of these. The shop notes clearly state that shoppers are NOT TO ACCEPT a L size drink even if offered for free. At my recent shop the server said that they only had L and no M. So I told them I didn't want the drink. Then they apparently took some time seeing to it that they gave me a M rather than no drink at all. My shop was marked "Invalid" with no payment, stating that I should have accepted the L if that's the only size they had. Clearly their shop notes are misleading, and I am disappointed in the company's refusal to pay me. Because they refuse to budge I am chalking this up to a bad experience and will no longer take their (FF) shops...but wanted to warn other shoppers out there to "beware."

Well.... Guidelines state:

"Order MEDIUM SIZE drink and fries. No small or large. NEVER accept an offer of a larger size when ordering."

The key word is "when ordering." Who stated there was only large to you? Was is the Order Taker or the Order Presenter?

So in your report, you should've stated you ordered Medium with the Order Taker, but received a Large from the Order Presenter. Then, you'd also report what was shown in your receipt.

My memory may be faulty but I don't remember a whole lot of space to add written comments on those shops (though I haven't done one for several years). It was mostly just check the boxes I think so there may not have been the option of providing the additional information.
I don't even perform FF shops but there has been so much written about them in this forum, I know that the guidelines and reports have changed over the past year. For the other MF shops that I do perform, there is always a section at the end for comments/issues/etc.
I recently did my first one in years and indeed there is a space to comment, so since my receipt was not exactly what/how I ordered it, I did comment. Two parts of my meal were turned into a 'combo' and that combo was what was priced, though I ordered 3 separate elements.
I can't tell from the original post if they eventually found the Medium sized drink and sold it or not. This is a bit of an anomaly. I gather it made the timing a bit off.
When I do a shop it's a bit of "method acting." There has to be some kind of logical adaptation. I would have taken the large and made sure it was still the same price. That said, it's a screwy situation and I don't recall anything in the notes about what to do if they don't have a medium cup size....I mean...what if I do one part of the shop..then for the other they tell me they are out of beef as there has been a recall? What if no potato products? No idea what the bleep to do about that. I guess if I had time I'd park and call for directions...

You had to order a Medium meal with three components. Being informed they are out of medium cups is not the same as accepting an upgrade. To remain inconspicuous, you could have done what a normal person would do. First, make sure you are only being charged for a Medium meal. If you must, ask them to show this on your receipt so you know they aren't charging you extra.

Now for the more important step, return here to improve your shopping skills. Otherwise this is the first of many problems you will unnecessary continue to encounter.

Wrong size soda and no beef or potatoes are two different things. My shop I was required to get a beef product so obviously I can't substitute chicken. Since that was the main part of the meal I would abort the shop and report rather than take a rejected shop. Potatoes they have two varieties at least and neither came off a real potato at the location. I don't remember, but if I could order a hash brown instead of a fries I might make that change. But this is Monday Morning Quarterbacking.
MarketForce has always been fair and I have been shopping with them off and on for the last ten years. I would have aborted the shop, reschedule it for a later day, or email the help desk. Chalk this one up to experience and move on.
But what kind of day would it be if a new forum member didn't post their one and only post to bash MF?
MF has done me a favor and only show me the big FF client when they are at bonused level now. They must not like my honest reports that QC holds for at least two days and verifies.
Thanks for this information!

I'm doing my first FF for MF next week. The info for this kind of shop seems daunting when you've never done anyone's FF shop before.

And I'm doing it at a location that I've never been to before as well, so I won't be familiar with the set up, inside or outside.

If I can get comfortable with the elements, there are a lot of these to be had in this area. I think they will be good for filling in on routes with other shops.
I must admit that I will do one of these only when it is inside a discount store so there is no possibility of doing a drive thru. The pay is the same, only the reimbursement differs because you buy only one meal.
So far, I've only seen drive thru locations on the potential shop list. But I will now keep an eye peeled for locations I know to within certain locations of major discount stores in this area (where I have some other shops to do).

I'm not a huge fan of the food, though I do like a certain breakfast item, soon to be available all day at almost all its locations.
Tarantado is correct.smiling smiley.... If they told me they only had large size cups and there were no medium cups, then I must accept the large, because I must order a drink. It is not your fault they have no medium sized cups. Your comment would be, on the radial button, "I ordered a medium but was given a large." Then later when it asks if you have any comments about your walkin/drivethru experience, you can tell them in detail that the location had no medium cups. It is not your fault you could not order a medium. "but" failure to explain everything that happened could get your shop rejected. Just tell them what happened and let the chips fall...hopefully in your favor smiling smiley
jeez...all this for a measly $6.00 fee + an unhealthy calorie-laden, cholesterol bomb??? I just cannot believe that shoppers do these assignments but...to each his/her own, i guess.
Apparently fees fluctuate by area. Cholesterol is not unhealthy, but the carbs involved here are. You can ditch your bun and just eat a few fries. Their unsweetened tea isn't bad.

Criticizing fees is futile here. I see people taking cel phone shops for around $10, car shops for $30, which based on total time invested pay less than most FF shops, plus you're still hungry. smiling smiley

$10? I see the $2.00 phone shops fly off the boards and $5.00 gas stations. I guess some people are really desperate or really bored.
MF has had challenges flipflopping and advising shoppers to report, or not, incorrect orders, or missing items. I ordered unsweetened iced tea, and at the beverage station, that urn was empty. I considered that a missing item, and returned to the counter for unsweet. That shop stayed in QC for days, before moving to Approved.

dmtmiller21, we have to order, receive, and evaluate three items. Entree, side and beverage. Two of three won't fly. I agree with you that the shop notes are not all inclusive. However, in the report, there is room to explain if ordering is correct, but the receipt is incorrect.

Sorry about that, I know better!

There not all $6.00 parkcitybrian, I would never do them for that. Here's the last several I've done, copied and pasted from my payment details...you just might be missing out. Yes, I know it's terrible for you, but I only take a bite or two haha! Notice the $50.00 one? The reports are too easy to pass up for that price!

redacted because I'm not going to repeat all the ICA violations

Oooooh, massive ICA violations, arkndove. Please edit and remove them, or I guess the moderator will remove them for you. We can get your point without you being so specific.
I'm envious of those who can do these fast food shops for $50. An over abundance of shoppers here keeps bonuses way down. Since arkndove only takes a bite or two, I doubt he is tremendously damaging his health or his waistline.

is it really necessary for you to always be so condescending? you're easily the biggest (inappropriate name removed by Mod) on the forum.
dmtmiller21 I can sympathise. I have been unable to think fast enough during some mystery shops and made quick decisions that resulted in my not being paid. I have to chalk it up to experience and move on.

If the same situation happens again, accept the Large and make note on the report and they will pay.

The most I was ever paid was $25 plus reimbursement smiling smiley
