International Service Check

Out of curiosity, where are they located? I got (yet another) email for a shop somewhere, without listing the state. I have emailed back to schedulers again and again suggesting they would be more successful if they listed the state, not just the city, since so many city and town names are repeated throughout the country. I have also emailed suggesting that their strategy of "Your zip code starts with a 5. This shop's zip starts with a 4, so therefore it should be possible to get there by noon today" is not the best idea and that listing by state would make more sense.

(For schedulers in the US, I might get a little testy if they don't understand that a $5 bonus will not take someone from Council Bluffs to Dubuque. For folks outside the country, you think they could look on a map and see why someone in Iowa can't make it to Michigan by lunch unless he or she had a private jet.)

That is why I had deactivated my account from the MSC. They had a scheduler who always automatically gave me the shops the minute I inquired where they were located and on seeing them on my log, I automatically did them. Just because they were in City of Toronto did not mean they were easily accessible to me. Most of the time they were too far and required cash outlay as they were upscale. When I asked her to please not do them anymore, our relationship went downhill.
I can see where it could be inconvenient to cross the GTA or to park, depending on the location. Assigning a shop if a shopper asks about the location is poor etiquette.

The email this morning was asking for a male shopper (which I am not) to do a shop in Bloomington. Bloomington? The one in California? Illinois? Indiana? Minnesota? Dunno.
The email requests I get from them are usually pretty specific on location. I have been seeing a string of emails recently where they lead in saying, "I recently called to offer you...". I'm pretty sure they have never tried to call me about shop offers as they have my number and have been able to reach me just fine when there were shop assignment details that needed to be discussed.

Their emails always slightly pique my interest though since I've had some great assignments in the past, but most emails get deleted quickly.
