Market Force delayed payments.

I just saw an update that direct deposits are delayed again. They were supposed to go out yesterday but maybe will go out today. This is the second time recently this had happened. MF has always been dependable. Should this be a cause for worry?

I don't think so. Tomorrow is a holiday, so give them the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think so. I'm a lot more worried when companies pay late without notifying their shoppers.
I'm much more concerned about the shop I couldn't report last night because MF's website was broken.

I thought their official terms were the 20th anyway and they always just paid early.

I'm kind of new and wonder how late, or how near to the 20th has MF paid how frequently? Sorry to seem to be nit-picky but my college kid needs money and I am broke before she gets paid again. A little desperate here.

It depends on what payment option you have. Here is Market Force's payment schedule:

Quote: "Shop payment is sent once per calendar month for all shops completed and approved in the previous calendar month. Shops approved in January, for example, will be included in the February payment.

Checks are issued no later than the 20th of the month. Direct Deposits are issued around the 10th of the month and are posted to your account in 1-3 business days." Unquote

So if you receive direct deposit, they usually start them around the 10th but it could take up to 3 days for completion, so I would not count a direct deposit as being late unless it reaches my bank after the 13th. Keep in mind, when there is a holiday (like this month - tomorrow), it may be delayed an additional day before reaching your bank.

If you are paid by check, you likely will receive it in the mail around the 22nd-25th if they are mailed on the 20th.
I was expecting a monster (and my largest to date from MF) deposit this month. My concern is more than a third of it is reimbursed expenses, money that is no longer in my pocket. Looks like it won't post now til Monday at my bank. For me, I am in the process of canceling nearly a dozen shops scheduled for this week due to lack of funds for required purchases and gas in the tank. I have never had my direct deposit later than the 12th of the month. For those of you with other jobs it may not mean much, but those of us that live paycheck to paycheck, it's a big deal! This hits my bottom line for the month real hard,
They say Thursday now, if I understand the latest update... (given Wednesday is VDay) I do a lot of work for them so I always count on their check to pay all the bills! smiling smiley

I totally feel for you here. smiling smiley All my other checks from other MSC's just get regenerated right back into the shopping expenses, like lunch or dinner costs. I don't think I have ever put a check in my hand and said, "Wow! Money to blow!" It never works like that for me.
The note says that paper checks will be mailed on 11/17 in case anyone is getting paper checks and was wondering. Looks like Sunny is right: the note on the home page says Direct Deposits won't go out until this Thursday (11/12) now.

When MSCs who have paid religiously for years and years have an issue, I am not concerned about their viability or whether I will get paid.

Only, if and when, it becomes a pattern . . . to be sure, the forum will be abuzz.
Agree with Mert, just wanted to say that a payment a couple of days late falls into the "bummer, but sh!t happens" category. If they had back to back week long plus delays, I'd be concerned. As is, I think they're having technical difficulties that are likely to be resolved soon.

This happened once earlier this year, but I believe we only had a one day delay. I'm not worried about it unless it becomes a habit. Market Force has been pretty reliable, so I'm willing to give them a pass.
My payment was deposited on the ninth. They didn't owe me very much so maybe that's why.
If they are making deposits today, it is more likely the payment won't actually show up in your account until tomorrow. I love working for MF so I guess one more day won't kill me at this point. Hope it doesn't roll into Monday!! Need the $$ to make $$.
I have a slow posting bank, so I'll be surprised if I get it before Monday, but I've got my fingers crossed for the rest of you!

My bank is very quick posting direct deposit and mine isn't here today either. I have always put down the 20th as expected payment date on my spreadsheet and just been happy it was there earlier so not a big deal for me. Sucks for people who were expecting it already though.

Well I did not get a delayed payment notice. It just said Nov. 9th and they had always been on the dot for the past months, as my bank posts DD quickly. However, there is nothing there yet. Could be the Remembrance Day and it is not even a holiday here.
