Super cranky scheduler

I am in shock I just got off of the phone with a scheduler that was really rude imo. The company had scheduled some shops for me for Thanksgiving week and I am going out of town so I called to ask if they could be reschedule. She was kind of mean. I have never had that experience with this company so I am a little surprised. Have any of you ever come in contact with a scheduler that had on their cranky pants?

I'm not terribly surprised. This is a super tight time for them, trying to schedule things around the holiday.

We are all here on earth to help others....What on earth the others are here for I don't know.

I'm kind of surprised the people at this company are usually really super nice. I can see if it was last minute, but to give someone an assignment during the week of Thanksgiving is iffy at best for some. Not only do we have to consider that people have plans for the holiday a lot have kids home for the holiday.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!

I am SO SURE entirely too many schedulers hang up their phone, shaking their heads, muttering "OMG, what's wrong with HER?" after talking with me that I can only giggle at the idea of a "cranky" scheduler!!!!!

LOL! I don't think that her understanding what I said was the problem I said I can't do the shops from the 23-26 I will be out of town. That's pretty clear right :-) I have never had a problem rescheduling a shop with this company, they are one of the nicest companies that I work with although they are kind of antiquated. I was shocked I'm going to go and look to see if the moon is full.

Did you sign up for the shops during that timeframe, then try to reschedule, or did they just arbitrarily schedule you?
Tis the season for cranky shoppers, cranky schedulers, cranky editors, cranky employees. And it will only get worse. I hate this time of year. That is why I have several vacays planned between now and the end of the year. Gotta use up those vacation and personal days.

MSCs do not care that you have holiday plans or kids at home. How on Earth are they supposed to know which shoppers have plans and which ones have kids? Maritz auto-assigns from the previous rotation but you had to approve it at the end of your report before submitting it. By agreeing to the auto-assign and picking which week you want the shops, you have basically agreed to a contract to perform those shops, You should have looked at your calendar and realized that you were agreeing to shops the week of Thanksgiving.

It has nothing to do with a full moon. We are nearing the end of the month and a major holiday. Deadlines have been bumped up and it is raining big bonuses. 23-26 is only four days. You still have Sunday the 22nd and Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th.

I clicked auto assign last month.

Pammie, since when did this become YOUR forum? You have no right to tell me what to post or not post. If you don't like what I have to say, most whiners do not, feel free to toggle me. You will not hurt my feelings in the least bit.

I'm not trying to tell you what to post or not post I just wonder why you always have to come in with something negative to say. Post what you like I'll just block you. Have a great evening.

Just because I don't sugarcoat everything, it does not mean it is always negative. Some people can't handle the truth and don't deal well with reality. I am fully engulfed in reality.

And thank you so much for toggling me. That just made my Thanksgiving holiday.

The scheduler didn't need to be rude, but if you cancelled out on shops you previously agreed to, I can understand why they are somewhat irritated -- especially during a time where it's probably much harder to fill shops. I would never agree to be auto-assigned shops!

I hope this won't affect your standing with the MSC, and that you (and everyone here) has a very Happy Thanksgiving!
It seems like the OP did an auto assigned. It is not the scheduler fault that you now have to cancel or rescheduled. When you auto assigned you agreed to perform the shops on certain days. OP, you are at fault.

If the MSC could fulfill the shops before the end of the month then they are at an advantage. They have a right to be CRANKY. Maybe you, the OP, should attempt to do the shops earlier in the week or as assignedconfused smiley. This change will leave a bad taste in the MSC "mouth" in regards for you. Just sayin'smiling smiley.

BTW, OP, it is "Last" minute.

I think that you have misunderstood, I didn't 'agree' to those shops on those days. I agreed to be auto assigned, I have been on auto assign for over 2 years now and if there was ever a scheduling conflict (which only happened once last year) they were more than happy to reschedule. This time is was different. I am an IC not an employee, just as they can not give me a shop if I am not in rotation, I can refuse a shop if I'm, going to be in a different state. If it affects my standing with the company then I am sorry but there is really nothing that I can do about it.

It is a week before Thanksgiving and the schedulers are likely pulling their hair out trying to get these done by the end of the month. Shoppers everywhere might need to cancel and reschedule due to weather, locations might be closed for the break and the end of the month is drawing near. People who had their shops auto-assigned and decide to change plans at the last minute aren't giving them warm fuzzies.

I personally don't consent to auto-assigning with any company because I want the flexibility to pick and choose when and where I will shop. Auto-assign takes that choice away but gives you priority in assignment as the shop may never hit the job board. It is a trade-off. If you click the auto-assign box you are telling them that you will do it on their schedule.

You did not refuse a shop. Are you in the same state nowconfused smileyconfused smiley. You should inquire if you can perform the shop this week.sad smiley It sounds like you opt out to cancel because you were not aware that the same week days was available in your MSC calendar.

You may be in a different state of mind, toogrinning smiley.

Auto assign is what it is. Just like the MSC/Client want us to treat each shop on an individual level. Auto assign want us to perform the shop in the best interest of the MSC/Client at the assigned availability. You are so right, I will never auto assign again with this company or any other. However having said all of that. There was no need for her to be rude. All that does is make the relationship difficult. As it turns out I called the next day and was able to speak to someone else and they were able to schedule the shops for this week. They are done.

I didn't know I could do that. Thanks for the info you guys. That person jumped on me on my first post on this board and it was very discouraging. Luckily it is the only cranky person I've come across on the board.
Hi Natalie. Thanks for staying around long enough to learn most posters on the forum are good natured and willing to help. We get all kinds but most will work with you and share information that will help you along. We depend on our moderators to weed out those who don't fit in, so if you feel a post is inappropriate you can report it. Look at the exclamation point in the lower right hand corner of the post. That's what you click to report a post. You will get a box to explain your issue with the post and you can choose to comment or not. It's never too late to report a post. Go back to the one that bothered you and report it if you feel that's what you want to do. The moderators may or may not take action, but the more reports they get the more likely they are to take action. You can also correspond with Jacob who is the owner of the forum. Another action you could take is to go the Meta section, start a new thread, and address your concerns there. Never accept that any forum member has a position of power. Everyone is subject to moderation or removal.

Maybe you didn't see the part where I said that I called the next day, spoke to another scheduler got the shops, and completed the shops. So no, I didn't get anyone being rude but I did get the shops. Alls well that ends well.
