Oh those charming wonders of Ipsos

Taking pains not to violate any ICA agreement here but I SOOO want to violate their something or other with a shovel wallop at point blank range. I recently sent a package to a friend in a far distant galaxy on a shop, fulfilled all their requirements as per instructions. Today I receive an ever so charming email from one of their minions saying I didn't send it far enough so they are rejecting the shop. Perhaps silly little me isn't up on these things but I thought that sending a package 2814 miles from that location was far enough away.

I did a different shop for them for a totally different client the same day and they're having a hissy over that too. It was one of those where you see if the location had things to say about phone minutes cards. The location I was sent to is a warehouse/ office space for a local manufacturer, they sell nothing to anyone and were totally mystified as to why I was there. That made two of us.

There are days when I wonder if I should just hang it up.

Eeek and uck. Good luck in your battles. I just read through a heavily bonused minutes and said a little prayer for those who had done it at list price because even though the bonus was more than 2X the original fee it was not enough to do the tap dance.
Cettie, not sure which type package shop this was but there are so many ins and outs of the instructions I read and re read them. and sometimes decide to err on the side of caution and not do that one .I remember reading one that said to send to zone 5 or above and the reimbursement did not seem like it would cover or it would barely cover. That same type of shop for the other company wanted a closer zone. I decided not to ask for that shop as I did not want to spend out of pocket to send a small item under 2 lbs. Let us know which scenario this was so we can be wary.
Sorry you lost out on that one and hopefully you can copy and paste the instructions you followed and convince them to pay you.

OMG that made my day. So funny. Been there before on random projects where you get a spreadsheet from the client that is five or more years old. I literally had Activision Corporate World Headquarters on my list one time. What was I going to buy - the not yet released newest edition of Call of Duty? I did a selfie and sent it to my teenager with some crazy text about going inside for a preview. He flipped out. ROFLMAO. I love to flip out my kids.
There are a bunch of phone shops listed in my area with bonuses but the addresses are screwy. Clearly the places don't sell phones. I sent an email to the scheduler about one that is actually s private residence. Will be interested in his reply. Anyone know if they pay for wrong locations?
The issue is not distance, but Zone. I would think that 2814 is way beyond Zone 5, which is the minimum requirement for Dim Wt and Haz Mat. Use the zone calculator on the shipping web site to verify the Zone by inputting the first 3 digits of each zip code. Then you can make a case if it is at least Zone 5

The Dim Wt shop also has strict weight limits. It has to be more than a pound and less than 5 pounds.

The Haz Mat shops have very specific scenarios in addition to Zone >= 5. There are also weight requirements.

I have been sent by various MSCs to visit locations to buy something with a credit card (for instance) and it turns out that there is absolutely nothing that a consumer could buy. How about industrial typesetting equipment for $10 or less? "If I was going to buy one of your $20,000 devices which I know nothing about, would you let me charge it to my personal credit card?" Or lunch in a building where access is limited to badged employees of the company? A pizza store in the middle of a high class gated community? Or a location which turns out to be on a secure military base. I doubt that I have seen it all, but it still amazes me.

Wow, sorry you all are having so many problems, I saw those shops and I said no way. I don't like going to the [client's place of business deleted by mod] anyway!

Just to be clear, the shops listed are for cell phone inquiries but the addresses are not cell phone stores.

I've seen those but I thought they were smaller mom/pop stores that had pay as you go type phones. I don't know as I didn't check it out too much as most of the addresses were areas I would not fill comfortable going into or I imagine so small I would stick out as customer no one has ever seen before.

I'm glad I don't do [client's business deleted by mod] shops. Sounds like many of you are going [adjective deleted].
I had good luck sending packages for the previous two MS companies who had this client but right now this new company is batting two for two.

I miss the old MSC who had this client so much. The new MSC bit off more than they can chew and it is having an effect on the shoppers. No more for me until things settle down. I don't even know if I will get paid for the 3 shops I already completed.
Now they're carrying on about the other shop I did, saying I did not specify the time and phone number of a call. Well, there's nothing on the report to indicate that the time or number is required to be listed so how would I know to just include it in a narrative. Sounds to me like they're trying to weasle out of paying for this one too.

EXACTLY the same two scenarios happened to me except:
my phone shop was to a residence! I called first and the (non english) speaker said they were "open for business"...so I went and, well, the dogs at this home weren't happy.

Telling someone that they are "going postal" is a very common phrase.

But in this instance we were trying to avoid a clent and MS company in the same posting

No, they won't pay. They say in the guidelines that many of these places go out of business on a dime and you are to call first to verify they exist. If you can't get phone verification you are to contact the scheduler.
My concern about the new "Biggest Shipping company" shops is that the form asks for duplicate information in several places, and the very last question is for "Total compensation". Does that include the shop fee, or just the expenses? Since the expenses are all entered in near the top of the form, the "Total Compensation" data item seems just silly - they should be using a formula in their spreadsheet or whatever to calculate it.

Another concern is that there does not seem to be a way to look at the list of past shops. Fortunately I keep a spreadsheet of all shops so I can check up when the check arrives, but it seems pretty unprofessional of them not to make this available.

I called to verify, the location was still there and open, they just had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out the location that supposedly sold the minutes was not retail at all, it was an office and warehouse for a furniture rental company. The MS company then asked me WHY they weren't a retail location. How in the blankety-blank would I know???

Didn't you know that we shoppers are supposed to be mind readers? When we're asked a question that wasn't covered in the guidelines or on the survey form, I guess we're supposed to say, "Oh, yes. My ESP wasn't working. Sorry. My fault."
