If that were true, why wouldn't the MSC hire someone who doesn't incur fees for long distance? Are there actually traditional calling plans where you pay for long distance on a landline? Even if there are, I can't believe that there is an MSC willing to pay for the cost of a phone call when so many people have unlimited free calling. And the poster was talking about the location being 50 miles away. Maybe we don't understand him, or as a new poster he doesn't understand what a phone shop is? Maybe he is confusing it with a shop where you go to a physical store and ask about a cell phone? Then distance pay might make sense.
