I was confused about "ZOUP!" restaurant requirements

READ what the actual instructions say- I DO find this de facto "no leftovers" policy REE-DICK-U-LUS. If some people want to throw away a 1/2 eaten sandwich- go ahead. I won't. "ALL FOOD MUST BE EATEN IN THE RESTAURANT" -is that clear enough? 'Nuff Said.

I don't adhere to those type of guidelines myself but unfortunately I always clean my plate too.

So many different spellings for ridiculous in this thread.
Okay, Ninja. To make nasty remarks about her weight (not knowing if she has a problem or not) is pretty darned rude. You should edit that out.

I guess the only time criticism on this forum is verboten is when it's grammar that's being criticized winking smiley Everything else seems to be fair game, including personal attacks such as Ninja's, whose comment is irrelevant to anything having having to do with a legitimate mystery-shopping issue.

I wonder where all the people who are supposedly opposed to "irrelevant criticism" are now?

SMH at this. Makes no sense to me.

As long as I can read and understand what someone means when they post in here, I am generally okay with it. At times I've read something several times and the meaning was still not clear, so I had to ask the poster for clarification. Other times it's jarring to read (for me) but I can comprehend it--yet I scratch my head in amazement when someone admits that their business communications are not formal. Heck, I even make sure that my texts are well-written, and when I email my siblings, I always write correctly as well. It's just a thing that I do, and I know that there are many others who are the same way...and some aren't. As long as it's working for them, whatever. As my nephew would say, "Not my pig, not my farm." The time that it most amazes me, however, is when someone posts about how unhappy they are with their shop scores but their post has numerous typos and grammar errors. It's really hard to take someone seriously then.

I don't know why people do a lot of things that they do. But I do know that attacking someone over something like weight, race, etc. is just plain mean and should not be tolerated.

So now we are all supposed to read every single thing written on every single thread and we better do it quickly? That's as bad as someone recently calling discrimination because the volunteer mods missed some ICA violations. Maybe Jacob needs to hire some people to monitor the boards 24/7.

Just to show a different point of view, I do one shop that has a requirement to purchase an entree and a salad bar to eat in.

The MSC says nothing about what to do with leftovers. The restaurant's policy for all customers is that you are welcome to take home your entree leftovers, but the salad bar leftovers are not to be taken home. Servers will usually offer a box for the entree if you have some leftover.

I regularly take home parts of the entree because a salad bar and entree is just too much food. In fact, the entrees are often so large that my dog and I share the entree and it is a full meal for each of us.
We should probably all think about what we post. I've noticed some forum members are annoyed by poor grammar and spelling. Me, not so much, unless someone seems to want advice OR the poor grammar/spelling concerns a communication made with a MSC (we really should be putting our best foot forward when we communicate with our customers, right?) Others are concerned with posts that are not politically correct. Those who vehemently criticize a post for not being politically correct are sometimes the ones who criticize those who criticize spelling and grammar. Others feel the need to correct terminology and yet point to the rudeness of those who correct grammar and spelling. Others criticize those who correct wrong information when it is posted.

Maybe we should have a rule against correcting. Anything posted stands. Sounds unreasonable to me but maybe that's what everyone wants. If wrong information is posted, it stands. If something that is not politically correct is posted, it stands. If someone uses the wrong terminology, it stands. If a poster exhibits terrible spelling and grammar, it stands. We ignore? Does that sound like what we want? Because if grammar can't be corrected, we shouldn't correct terminology. And we certainly shouldn't tell other posters that they have said something politically incorrect, right? It's all on the wheel. What goes around comes around.

As for personal attacks, has the personal attack several posters have complained about been reported? I've noticed personal attacks are usually deleted very quickly after someone reports them.
Wow catlassy/Pam. I just came across the company that has the Zoup! account. They are clearly too good for you. I have worked for them for many years. They are extremely nice and pay very well. As a matter of fact, they paid me so much to do a shop at the end of the year, I called and spoke with one of the owners and let her know that I am sure that she overpaid me. I have no idea how they came up with how much they were paying me to do this special assignment, but no matter how I added it up, it came out as too much.

They won't miss anybody who sends them an email like that.
All food must be eaten in the restaurant --as opposed to ordered to go. It does NOT say "All OF YOUR food must be eaten in the restaurant." It's a shame to get oneself into a huff for no reason at all.
I have done several shops for them and have always brought a companion. The amount of reimbursement you get is just enough for both of us to get a soup, 1/2 sandwich and a drink. I never finish my soup and ALWAYS get a baggy to bring it home. I've never had a problem with doing that. They people are really great to work with. They just recently became an "official" MSC were anyone can apply for a shop. I use to just get an email once every few months asking if I was able to help them out and I would reply through the email. There wasn't any website to go through, just the email.

So my thought is..if you're not happy with the "rules" then don't do it and it leave them for people who can read and understand them!!!
I have done plenty of Zoup shops. I dine in as required and take home what I don't finish.
I've done a few of the Zoup shops as well. I nearly max out the reimbursement with a bowl of soup, sandwich/salad and a drink. Unless you are ordering six cups of soup, it would be hard max out.
Being an anonymous forum moderator is a thankless job. Much thanks to the moderator for reviewing this thread and altering the title of the thread and removing proprietary information from the OP's post.
I have done 3 of those shops and I don't find them difficult. They specifically say that you can bring a guest and the allowance is enough for two. The instructions are very clear and specific with regards to take out orders. They are not allowed with this shop.

I am waiting for the next exciting opportunity!
I never heard of this place before, so upon going to their website I discovered that they are nowhere near by. BTW their website is FREAKY!!!! Check out the finger next to the soup lol.......reminds me of a zombie show smiling smiley

Wow! I just looked and yeah, the thumbnail on the left (the person's right thumb) is dirty under the edge of the nail bed. Eww gross. It could be a photo shadow but surely they should photo shop it. I guess they think no one is paying attention to anything but the bowl of soup.
Ewwww....

I wish I knew which CO offers this MS cause they are all over my area and yet I haven't seen a shop for them. I must not have signed up for the right co. sad smiley

Zombies need variety too. Consuming flesh and blood gets old after awhile.

Yikes. Looks like the person has some type of nail fungus.
Yes, but in my opinion your best bet would be to sign up with all of them anyway. Then you will get more shop offers.
What mystery shopping company does them? Just kidding. I will keep on signing up with new places. We have one of those places near me, tried their lobster bisque it was good.
Wow, there is another MSC who does them too now. I just got an email offer from them, but the ones they wanted done were too far away. They had a nice bonus attached. I will have to keep checking their job board, as they are not an MSC that sends out regular email postings for jobs.
