Ipsos...What's up with them?

I applied for several of their new phone shops, and they sat in my "Application" area for over a week. The final due date is tomorrow, Sunday. I had planned to do a couple each day, not all of them on Sunday, so I just now deleted all my applications. Also, there are still a few shops I did 2 weeks ago, still not finalized. Did they go belly-up? No email response at all. It's like they just disappeared...

They seem to post shops, and then assign the ones they want. And sometimes the due dates change. This seems to be characteristic of how they operate. They are not alone, but luckily they are in the minority. I keep track of my applications, and when they cease to make sense, I delete them.

I have yet to shop with them for this very reason. As a shopper who has never shopped for them, I feel they just leave me hanging as a backup and I don't like having something hanging for days. Assign me the job or I will reject the assignment.

I may look like a newbie shopper to them, but I won't let them block off my ability to do other assignments by sitting on an applied for shop.

I am slightly concerned about the email I received from them regarding a payment delay. The delay isn't really the concern as much as the reasoning outlined in the email. I do not want to divulge the contents of the email further, but those who received this same email likely know what I am referring to.

One would think that if your scheduled pay date occurred on a weekend or holiday, that the payment would be moved to either the Friday before or the Tuesday after whichever makes more sense...

I know what you mean. That email was a bit off. Their reasoning was not logical.

I wonder if the issue with Ipsos is that they got overwhelmed when they took on the big shipping client. I recall that they were more responsive in the past.
Please, at least they're paying. I did two phone shops for a local bank with ath power on January 6th. Still no grade and no payment....

I agree that the content of that e-mail was odd, to say the least. I was "scratching my head" when I read their reasoning....

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
As you can see in other threads, Ath Power rarely issues grades. So don't expect to get one. They pay, like many MSCs, at the end of the month after you complete the shop. This is a fairly standard practice. Payments are handled by Bill.com and I have never had an issue getting payment from Ath Power. I got paid last week over a dozen shops I did in December. No fuss, no muss.

Why would you allow them to "block off my ability to do other assignments"? You apply for their shops. You apply/accept other shops with other companies. When your schedule gets filled, you delete the unwanted pending applications. Easy peasy.
Ipsos hasn't had anything in my area I was interested in for awhile, but still, many of us create routes and not assigning jobs makes them less profitable. Heck sometimes it makes it not a route at all but the other approved shop a destination!

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just forget to load the film.
I tend to apply for the shops in my immediate area (within 5-6 miles of my house) that I know I can swing by no matter what.

The payment explanation email was weird...oh boy...we shall see...

Shopping Central Jersey Shoreline. WHAT? I'm an adult?! When did this happen?! How do I make it stop?!
The payment explanation was total BS. I am not accepting shop offers from this MSC at this time. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
They owe me a little over $500 for shops done in January. I too got an email stating that payment was delayed and should be in my PayPal account by 2/17.

I got paid for my December shops on January 15th. I suggest that you look at their website and determine whether they paid you for December or not. They should have paid you a month ago. They pay me via PayPal.

Nope.

I wonder if we'll get paid at all... This company is sure screwed up... I got that bizarre e-mail, too last week.
The payment statements are on their website. I just reconciled mine. I am due over $1K for January (60% fees, the rest reimbursement). February has been much, much slower, about 15% of January.

Are they also behind on reviewing shops? I did one a week ago and it's still pending validation. I did the same shop for them last month, and it was approved within three or four days.

I have a different shop for them scheduled for next week. If the January one still isn't paid by then and last week's not approved by then, I'm cancelling this new one.

HI all, in regard to this, we initially assigned some of the shops, and then the form had a lot of issues so shoppers couldn't submit. We stopped assigning to avoid a backlog of form issues. Everything should be back on track though, could you email me directly if you are still having scheduling delays? judith@summitscheduling.com

Could you email me directly about this? We don't edit all of their projects, but I would like to look into which shops these were. judith@summitscheduling.com

I still have not been paid yet either, although it is the 17th. Getting really irritated with this company for this and other issues.

They owe me almost $500 and I received an email a few days ago notifying my payment was late but it would be in my Paypal account today. Didn't happen.
Dear Shoppers,

I am from Ipsos and please note that we are working diligently with PayPal as the funds are not recognized as of yet on our PayPal account. This is unfortunately currently under out of our control and between the bank & PayPal to recognize the funds:

"What is the ACH Network?

The ACH network is a batch processing method that is used by many financial services, governed by NACHA - The Electronics Payments Association. Use of this method keeps the costs of moving money lower, which enables PayPal to keep fees lower for customers and even offer some services for free.

How long does it take to transfer money from my bank to PayPal, or from PayPal to my bank?

When transferring to or from US banks, an ACH transfer takes 3-5 business days. That excludes weekends and holidays. The time frame can vary in other countries, typically becoming 5-8 business days."

Please note that Ipsos is one of the largest market research firms in the world and that we've the revenue to support it. Nothing fishy here except that we were delayed and was a big miss on our end.

We are working on a calendar and will share it with all the shoppers on the pay date by month, inclusive of taking the national holidays into consideration.

We still want to get the payments out today and will keep everyone posted.

Thanks and once again we apologize for the inconvenience,

Dhaval
