Talk About Your Misleading Subject Lines! (From Intellishop)

I know how some forum members like to whine about the emails with "easy" and "fun" in the subject line but I think this subject line is A LOT worse than any of those.

"URGENT: Past Due Shop Due !"

I have 10 minutes to gulp down my lunch and scan my emails and this is what I see. For a split second, I panicked. Then I saw that it was from Intellishop and I have not worked for them in ages. If the shop is past due because another shopper flaked, put something like that in the subject line. Don't give me the impression that I actually missed a deadline. Give me a break! Bad form Intellishop scheduler.

Oh, but it is - if you consider a $3 bonus worth your while. smiling smiley

Don't forget... you might get a HERO CITATION!
You know what though! I got a $40 bonus on a $20 car shop from Intellishop one time! It was beginner's luck though. I've never seen it again (in 2 months haha).
I also had the same e-mail, and same reaction! This was by far a new low in click bait in my short mystery shop career.

Or Ten!
I had the same reaction - I thought - OH NO! - what shop did I forget to do!!! then saw it wasn't me.... and saw it was the pain (t) shop. No wonder they are overdue.
I do have to give at least some props to the scheduler who runs this shop - the next onslaught of e-mails changed to jokes in the subject line. A far cry from the "SHOP OVER DUE SHOP LATE" subject. smiling smiley
I am a glutton for punishment. Inspired by the 10 I just received, I accepted a shop for them next week. That will probably go down to 8 or lower because they had to contact me for something already on my report. Well, let's see what happens.
Considering doing my first Itelli-Shop assignment. The posts I have read, so far, are negative, although I haven't read all 600. The majority of my experience is with Marketforce. Is there anyone with something nice to say about Intelli-Shop?
Well, I received another 10 on my recent shop! I guess I will stop now. Afterall, that was the shop which was given to me less than an hour on a three-hour window shop. But to be fair, the scheduler rescheduled it and was very nice. So I will quit while I am ahead.
I think ones experience with Intellishop depends upon the particular assignment and the scheduler. I happily do one shop twice a month, and hope to do so forever. There are others which I won't go near. The advice often given is to accept one shop and see how you like it. If it seems to take a little too long but is otherwise alright, try a second and a third since shops and audits often go faster with experience. I have done a number of tire shops for them this year. I accepted one, decided it was reasonable, and then did as many as I could find. I did a paint shop, did a few more, decided that they weren't getting any better, and for now have stopped doing them.

Dear Sybil2
Company desire "Flake Citiation" for paying low pay for jobs more companys give 3x the money. The company I speak of pay's 1/3 what other shops pay. The Solar pay they offer me for $7-$10, I get $30 for doing shop that is same work and clear. I do paint store for $25 they offer me $6-$7 and send money for $12 in scare location for ladies and men, not for me because I grow up in dangerous place and look like clients. They not good to shoppers, they cheap company I speak about. I hope their customers know the report they provide are not expert because no expert work for $5 a hour.

Don't forget the phone call shops to an online school. The guidelines instructed you to say some specific question or statement and then get dinged because you mentioned it. The proofreader/editor goes on and on about reading your guidelines, following directions. Some of their other shops I don't mind doing. The convenience stores and tire shops.

I am not sure why you quoted me but I also do not understand your response. I started this thread because I found a particular scheduler's email headers definitely misleading and unnecessary. She probably saw this thread or someone told her about it because she immediately stopped sending "those" types of emails.
Granted, I have only been mystery shopping for two months, but I have found IntelliShop to be very fair and my email communication with the scheduler has always been positive. I have 8 shops with them and my 9th one scheduled for later this week.
Sorry Sybil,

It is the same place I did a phone call for, they said "easy and fast" only to make me burn up my time badly. I should have read my post before typing quick. The point I make is the only way some companies can get shoppers is to tell them half-truths about the time, money or warning the first writer mentioned falls towards dishonesty. What reasons do company have to lie to shoppers if shoppers can warn their friends on credible web pages here?

When Schedule People tell half-truths is it them who are telling lies or the company they work for? I think shoppers deserve truth, if Shopper has truth she or he can weigh to see if they want the job. If company lies to us than they only get one shop until friends here warn other Shoppers to be aware of false claims.

Sorry Sybil,
Ok, thanks. Your latest post with explanation made a lot more sense.
My experience with Intelli-shop has been mostly positive. They have a couple schedulers I refuse to work for, but the rest of them are awesome -- one recently added a bonus after I completed the shop. I find their reports to be mostly easy and fast (but I haven't done any), and they sure pay as promised. I have about
60 shops with them.

I will never, ever, never, do that shop again. smiling smiley

10 foot pole list for me on that one...
Never say never. There are too many people sharing negative experiences with this MSC's editors for it to be a myth. I shopped for them every month as well. Then I was targeted by an editor from hell. I have since chosen to not work for them.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
stick a fork in this guy cuz he's done...with Not-intellishop. misleading subject lines to lure the newbies; the never-ending drop down windows with multiple questions that go onandonandonandon; the confusing/contradictory guidelines; the editors who deduct a point or 3 for grammar, etc. deficiencies and then refuse to disclose what those might be (so they are not repeated going forward)?

sounds delightful, eh?

oh wait, forgot to mention...the low, really low pay for their labor-intensive assignments.

aside from those wonderful non-attributes they are a wonderful company to do business with.

I LOVE how you put this - the pain (t) shop LOL. Mmmmmm - I'd do it for $30 and up, though.....
