Marketforce wrong location and incorrect spelling

I did one of the Marketforce gas station shops yesterday and just received notice of an invalid shop. The directions to the location (on their website) and also if you google mapped it yourself takes you to an out of the way location with a large field and no surrounding businesses. I was able to find the correct location on my own, approximately 8 miles from where the MF website mapped the location. I did the shop and the address in my guidelines and the address on the receipt matched. I send notice to MF of the incorrect directions and location by sending photos of the field where the address was mapped, the GPS locater of my vehicle and the address given in the guidelines, a map of the two locations shown clearly and also the receipts from my shop showing the correct address on the receipt (which matched the guidelines). In my notice of an invalid shop it said (in bold lettering I might add) "Shopped the wromng location." That is their spelling, not mine. I give up.

So the address was correct and just the mapping program was wrong?

Did the shop guidelines warn against doing a shop if the actual address differed from the one provided by MF? If so, you shopped knowing the risk.

I did a similar thing on another MF shop (for another client), but I explained the discrepancy in the report itself. HelpDesk emailed me to ask for clarification, and, like you, I provided proof. Fortunately for me, MF recognized its error, thanked me for letting them know, and paid me for the shop. I was pleasantly surprised (since MF can sometimes be quite stubborn and unreasonable). Sorry it didn't work out for you.
They definitely have some folks in their QC with a burr under their saddle. This has NOT been a decent month of trying to work with them. Dropping fees, last minute guideline changes, bad addresses, software issues and QC with a burr will have me keeping arm's length for a while.

No, the OP stated that the address on the receipt and the address in the guidelines matched.

gallupgirl, do not give up. I once had a shop that they tried to wrongly invalidate, and 20 emails later, they admitted their mistake and paid me. I was polite, calm, and very persistent. They have so many people working in Helpdesk that I probably received replies to each email from a different person. I finally got a hold of the right person who looked into the matter for me instead of just hitting reply and stubbornly insisting I was wrong without checking the facts.
If the addresses matched, then it had to be the correct location. It will be interesting to learn how if the address was correct that the shop was rejected. They do not go by map coordinates, just the address.

There are two major maping resources, most software uses Google. I had a similar experience for a different MSC. Even the client was using Google. I verified the address and actual physical location, all went well.

And many client shop cancellations!...tongue sticking out smiley

I still love them but I think there are some kinks to work out. smiling smiley
Generally speaking, I think glitches raised by shoppers will be favorably resolved. However, patience, perseverance, and time are in order. Aggravations. Is the fee worth it?
In my case, the address on the receipt and the address in the guidelines matched--but both were incorrect. Instead of something like 123 Pine Street, both listed the address as 123 Pine Way. There was actually no "Pine Way" in the city in question. My guess was MF got the address from the client or the store originally, not realizing that the client/store had it wrong all along.
I don't know if this will help -- not this time, anyway -- but I would have e-mailed Helpdesk before submitting the report. Conversely, if the address on the receipt and the address on the guidelines matched, I wouldn't even have confused them by including the info about the map being wrong and all that other irrelevant "stuff".

I did a MF gas station stop last year where the address was W. 36th St. There was absolutely NO W. 36th St.,
Way Place, Road, or Avenue anywhere in town! I called the scheduler, she looked it up, said "do you see
a Chili's?" "yes, it's right here on the corner". "Well, you see a gas station next to it?" Yes. "That's your
gas station". OK. Went and got gas. We are on 27th St. WEST. Little printed receipt comes out of the pump -- W. 36th St. After I did the reveal, I asked the attendant, told her I'd been driving all over looking for W. 36th. She laughed and said it had been wrong ever since the store opened.

When the report asked me if I went to the address on the guidelines, I answered "yes". When it asked what address was printed on the receipt, I put W. 36th.

You might try e-mailing the helpdesk that the address on the guidelines and the address on the receipt are the same.

Reading over this thread, something does not add up. We are instructed to not rely on coordinates, to verify the location by either calling or the clients websites. A map pin is meaningless, we go by the address. There are plenty of locations pinned to the middle of streets, on the wrong side of the street, and yes miles away.

It's like if your navigation says go straight, but to do so means driving off a cliff or into a lake. Logic takes over. So, something is missing here.

What I do is visit Google Maps or MapQuest. I take any landmarks such as "next to McDonald's" that might be in remarks and then use my GPS to see if everything jives. Sometimes the MSC puts in the wrong digits like: 134 ABC Street when it's really 143 ABC Street.. Sometimes you get there and it's a vacant lot (Google Maps is over a year behind, I saw a gas station sign that said $3.34 for gas) so sometimes no matter what you do, a folly of human errors by your MSC and outdated maps, you can still be sunk. tongue sticking out smiley
why do some people put all their faith in little talking box/voice while driving. I have read stories where driver enters highway in wrong direction & causes head on collision, drives into a lake or plows their car thru a bldg & then blames it on the GPS. Siri told me so & she can never be wrong. come on, use what little brain cells u have left.

Unfortunately I've had to email MF before about a wrongly addressed location I had already informed them about probably 4-6 months prior. The location was in the same business building, just in a different suite. It was a weird circumstance, and when I asked them about the issue that had come up again and if I should bother doing the report, the response was basically well you haven't turned in the report yet so we can't tell you. This was even with having fully explained the situation and the differences in address. So basically they wanted me to do the report, turn it in, and take the chance of it being rejected.... Way to waste time.

Usually, I won't waste time completing a report if I don't know whether it will be accepted or not. If the report took an hour, it would be a poor use of time. But in the case of MF, where reports usually take me 10 minutes, max, I'd probably complete the report. Having already spent time doing the shop, I'd likely turn in the report to see if I could get paid.
I think they have some new and completely impossible editors! They are invalidating me, my sister, my husband all over the place. We never get invalid shop notices unless we mess up! Now get this: I did a cell phone shop and they invalidated it because they said that the time over lapped with another shop. Ummmm, no, the two shops were on the same road in a small town. The timing difference was 12 minutes from when I left one shop and drove the half mile to the next shop. I sat in the parking lot for 11 minutes reviewing what I had to do. I alerted them to their mistake and they said, "Well, the issue was something else then and we've already filled that shop again and it's been completed. So, I get punished because they can't tell time! Outrageous!
