SQM Step Program

Well after 2 years of being with them I finally completed all 9 steps. Of course it was probably maybe 24 nights of taking the step tests but to get those 24 nights in and remember to continue with them it took 2 years. Now maybe I will take an assignment with them. Of course it has to be worth it which from what I see is nothing right now. I don't fly hardly at all. I don't think I will ever take a bus the rest of my life after a hellish bus trip from New Mexico to Buffalo NY. There are no restaurants in my area. They have no retail or fast food in my area. But still they may have something worth it someday.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

It took me a long time to get those steps too. But I did lots of work for them without the steps.

Right now they don't have anything for me either.
Yes, I actually did a lot of shops for them before I completed the Step 9. I occasionally do some shops for them but they are scheduled in advance. I have yet to do the hotels or plane shops but I have done many restaurants, including airport shops and upscale retail. Most of their shops are part reimbursement and no fee and I try to stay away from them because I find I am spending more than I want just to meet their requirements. For instance, for a $25 reimbursement, you have to spend $50 or $100. More often than not, I tend to spend more to meet the quota. But if I like the retail and the restaurant, I would go for it.
Taking a trip on their bus client has always been on my bucket list, but the timing just hasn't been right yet.

What's the point of going through the steps? I haven't and I'm taking a flight Saturday to the IMSC conference. Do they have different shops available, other than flights and buses, once you pass all the steps?

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
Not in my experience, CO. Passing the steps, however, puts you first in line for shops you do want.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
There was a really high end hotel shop in my area and they said you had to have all the steps to apply. I didn't get through them in time to apply
Full reimbursement, Prince? There's a beautiful hotel here that I've stayed in on my own dime, but they only offer 50% reimbursement. That's not worth it to me. If it's an occasion where I'm willing to fork out $$$, I'm not apt to want to keep track of anything.

I would suggest to apply for a shop if you are interested in it. Maybe not the hotels and airlines. You never know. You may get it if there are no applicants who had reached that step. I remember getting some shops when I was just starting to learn about SQM and I was trying the STEPS tests. I was given some shops which surprised me. Once they have your record, you never know.
I have done several shops for them. At the beginning, I took the 50% reimbursement restaurants, just to get my foot in the door (plus we happen to like that chain). Now, I am taking the one that either pay or reimburse fully. Tonight my husband and I are eating at a restaurant with an $80 reimbursement. I looked at the menu and found that we can order food we like and stay within that amount. We may spend a bit more, but it will still be cheaper for us than a fast food meal.

I don't know where you are located, but I have done other types of shops (not restaurants) for them where I am paid a fee. Just keep checking and applying.
Yes, it was full reimbursement. But it was really expensive. I would be worried about making a mistake and not getting paid. Any way, it worked out that my family were having brunch in that hotel in the time frame of the shop so I was going to risk it. But it was gone by the time I did that last step. I have not seen that job again, but I rarely check their job board any more.
