Moises C from Kern pulled a shady move, but the situation did improve

A few hours ago this guy calls me up, and after a little negotiation I agree to give him a wholesale club shop today for a $8 bonus, total fee of $20. I got the confirmation in my inbox seconds after the phone call ended. An hour later I get an email saying my assignment has been cancelled, and he calls me saying he found someone to do it for cheaper. What? You already assigned me the shop, dude, that's on you. This guy obviously has no integrity, and is a joke of a person, nevermind scheduler. For $8, he's going to go and cancel a shop to assign it to someone else. We're not talking big money, we're talking $8.

update: He just emailed me apologizing, saying it'll never happen again etc etc... at the end he said he's willing to assign me the shop again with a $5 bonus. I respect that he manned up, and apologized... but um, we had already agreed on 20, and that's what he assigned it to me for to begin with.
When I hear things like this, it makes me hope that the second shopper, who was offered and took the job for less, screws it up and the scheduler has to come back to the original shopper and ask for a re-shop. That's when I'd up my fee. By a lot.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Jay, It sounds as though this scheduler was unprofessional and totally in the wrong and while it probably makes you feel better to vent your frustrations there is a better way to voice your objection. The name and phone number of the President and CEO of KSS (Lorri Kern) and the Operations Manager (Nola Penny) is listed prominently on their website. A call to one of them might bring about more satisfactory results.

yea, you're probably right. I was mostly giving shoppers a heads up about this scheduler, as much as I was venting. I left Lorrie a voicemail, but will email her too.
I recently had a dust-up with another (I'm assuming new) Kern scheduler - Alysia. I have a long, profitable, and positive history with Lorri. I'm guessing she did not do the new hiring herself as she has been picky (in a good way) in the past. Thanks, Jay, for letting me know that yet another new Kern scheduler wasn't properly vetted.

Why can't they all be like KSS Shelley? She is amazing.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.

I'd have called Lorri before posting that here, but that's just me.

I mean, isn't this forum about sharing our mystery shopping related experiences, good, and bad? If what happened to me happened to another shopper, I would like to know about it. As soon as he apologized, I came on here to give an update, so it's not like I was trying to blindly "attack" a scheduler. I wouldn't have made the thread if I had received his apology email beforehand, but I had no way of knowing that was coming. And I did call both of them, but it went to voicemail. Oh well, i'm over it now.
I completely understand your anger and frustration. When the scheduler cancels because they found a mark to do the shop for cheaper, nothing is said or done. On the other hand, if we cancel a shop because we don't want to do it, we are labeled a flake, given a 0 and in some cases banned from the MSP.

Where is the justice? How can we label the scheduler a flake? Hello?

As you wish. You might consider editing the original post, as it makes the update more clear.

You also wrote, "This guy obviously has no integrity, and is a joke of a person, nevermind scheduler."
That's pretty harsh. Hell would freeze over before I posted that about anyone from Kern. Really, you'd have to really screw me for a posting like that about anyone. I'd reserve comments like those for Hilli Dunlap and Franchise Compliance (out of business). I'm not saying that I would not post, but your wording is not how I'd have gone about it.

Example:

"Moises C from KSS. Anyone ever have any problems with him? Here's what happened to me."

My guess is that you won't be getting a lot of work from KSS now. At least, you aren't on their go-to list now. Just my speculation.
I keep reading the same subject line on the home page of the forum and seeing it when opening this section. I was not aware the situation had been resolved. In all fairness, editing the subject line and original post really is in order now. Sure you had no way of knowing you would receive an apology, but you do know how to correct your own mistake.

I didn't end up emailing her, Jas, it's over at this point and i'm not trying to be a pain in the ass. I left a voicemail for her after it happened. Most likely she heard it, and contacted him to make the situation right which he halfway did. Like I said in my second post, he emailed me apologizing, and offered to reassign me the shop. He didn't give me the fee that he originally assigned me, but I took it with the $5 bonus anyway.
Socalmama, sorry, but you sound like a suck up. you don't think cancelling a shop after you already assigned it,, and assigning it to someone else is completely unprofessional, and 100% lacking in integrity? Wouldn't that also make you a joke of a scheduler as your word would mean absolutely nothing?
Lisa, where is my mistake? I didn't even think that I could edit the thread title. To be honest, I highly doubt he emailed me apologizing, and offering to assign the shop again on his own accord. It's possible he did, but I bet Lorrie told him to fix it, or he changed it because I was giving him plenty of grief about it. Chances he did it out of the goodness of his heart are slim to none.

Change the title for what? The scheduler did the wrong thing. The scheduler dumped a good OP because someone could do the same job for a few dollars less. That's something I'm suppose to tolerate? Hell NO. Thanks for outing the penny pinching scheduler. He goes straight to my do not trust list.

DO NOT CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS POST. No need. A cheat is a cheat.
Wow, the scheduler did not fix the problem they created. From what I see, the scheduler offered more than they were authorized. They made up a reason to cancel the shop, then tried to salvage the relationship with the shopper while saving their relationship with the MSC. The amount of money in question is negligible, the actions the scheduler engaged in appear to have been a bad reaction to a mistake they made, making things exponentially worse.

The title was fine the way it was, this blaim shifting too the shopper trying to further diminish the wrong actions by the scheduler is demeaning towards shoppers in general. That's my opinion.

hahahahaha Just wow.

ETA: I just realized that you are the same person who told Amy from Service Sense that you wouldn't leave your driveway to do her shops for $6. I know Amy and I know Lorri. Now I know all I need to know about you.

this is just a ridiculous post. what does knowing Amy and Lorri have to do with anything? i made this thread to inform other shoppers here about a bad experience with a scheduler. of course you completely ignored my last post. you seem to have an agenda here... one that involves kissing a lot of ass. maybe you'll get a few hero citations out of it, or even a pat on your e-back.

thanks. another thing is, the scheduler reached out to me to begin with. he initiated the call which puts even more responsibility/accountability on him. it's like if I ask a girl out, and she says yea, but then blows me off... ok, she would look really bad, but maybe she was put on the spot, and she couldn't think of an excuse so she said yea not wanting to make me feel bad... however, it doesn't look half as bad as it'd look if I asked the girl out, she said yea, but then I blow her off. then it's really just a question of character, like, how much of a flake, and a wishy washy joke of a person would I have to be to do that? if you initiate, you should always be prepared to follow through.

Wow, jay225, just WOW. I get it, a scheduler did a wrong thing. You did the right thing, you phoned his boss. But then you went on the attack on a public forum before even waiting to see if he or his boss might work with you on it. In the interim, he reached out and tried to make it right with you. You are still so bent out of shape that you continue to attack. AND now you are going to attack other forum members who post something that expresses a different opinion.

I'm going to stop here and not tell you what you sound like. Go take a cold shower. Try not to let the interaction with the scheduler ruin your weekend.

ah the white knight riding in. settle down, settle down... relax. i was the one being attacked if anything. socalmama somehow how gathers that because she knows Lorrie, and Amy(who had nothing to do with anything), she knows all there is to know about me. that's an insult for one(whose the one being hateful?), a ridiculous thing to say for two, and kissing ass for three. now because she insulted me, i felt that i was now justified in calling her post ridiculous(instead of just thinking it), understand? as far as the scheduler goes, he emailed me the cancellation, and then called me, and showed no remorse over the phone when I tried to reason with him. it wasn't until later when he apologized, but that was after I had already left Lorrie a voicemail, and emailed him letting him know why he was wrong again. still, i acknowledged when he did apologize, and even changed the name of the thread. it doesn't change the fact that what happened happened, and that if i didn't take a proactive approach to the situation, the shop would have stayed cancelled on me. it also doesn't change the fact that I didn't get the fee I was originally assigned to get. like I said, i'm personally over it, but that doesn't mean I won't respond to messages in my own thread.
famous for the wrong reasons? in your world, maybe. socalmama, you have a history of attacking people who say anything negative about KSS. do you work for them? my post was only directed at one wishy washy scheduler btw, not the company.
oh yea, one more thing i forgot to add is that when the scheduler reassigned me the shop, he assigned it for base fee. it wasn't until i informed him that my bonus was missing that he conveniently said he "forgot", and attached the bonus on there. maybe it was just a disasterous showing by moises, and i caught him on a bad day.

I work for them only as a shopper. I have made no less than $25,000 in fees from them over the years, probably closer to $50,000 truth be told.
