A Closer Look - FYI

Outside of schedulers, I have not gotten emails from ACL after I complete a shop. I did a shop over the weekend, and logged on to their site twice a day. I had to click the email icon on their site to see what was sent to me.

For those who shop for ACL, go to EVENTS, HISTORY, and click the email icon to see if the editors have sent you anything.

Over the weekend I received the usual 'thanks' emails from editors. I am using gmail and they always come to my in box because they are not mass emails. Scheduler mass emails may go to my junk mail folder because there may be too many recipients. But ACL both sends acknowledgment emails of shops and any editor requests for further information. If you see them on ACL but did not receive them you need to check the settings on your email.
I agree. I always get a thank you e-mail to my hotmail e-mail account telling me that my shop has been reviewed and forwarded to the client. The newest editor who has gotten my report the last few times usually adds a personal friendly comment.
For my last shop I received three emails, one stating I needed to login in to answer a question, another letting me know the first email had been sent and finally a third saying the report was approved and had been forwarded to the client.

The ACL domain is on my Safe Senders list, so none of their mail goes to spam. I check spam frequently because some valid emails slip in there.

ACL just isn't coming to my mailbox. I contacted Nancy, an editor, and let her know. I'll report back her response.

I use yahoo, no issue with emails from ACL.

I've had emails from mailing lists I'd marked as safe stop showing up in my Hotmail inbox. I hope the scheduler can help you resolve the issue.

Do you by any chance have verizon email? This type of thing has been an issue with my verizon account for years. I have not noticed it with ACL yet but I do miss emails from others, and not just the bulk ones. They do not go into spam. I think they get rejected. Recently my MF account was missing the search function. I looked at my profile and my email address had disappeared. They told me the emails they sent me bounced back to them so they thought I was gone. One of these days I will get disgusted enough to contact my senders and set up another account. I have been dreading that process.
sandy, I use Yahoo! for all of my MS work. I get the scheduler's emails with no problem. It's just the editors. The shop I did this week, Nancy sent me the usual, "I tried to contact you by email." I received nothing in my inbox or spam folders.

That's really annoying, isn't it? Hope the forum members are able to help you. I use Outlook and have no problems ... but there is always a first time.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.
I use my ISP account for MS as they have no spam filter to get in the way. It is a dedicated account that is ONLY mystery shopping and never given to any other person and remains spam free except for MS offers.

The free Web mail accounts are always subject to people marking MS companies as spam and ending up getting filtered.

The down side to doing this is that if you change ISP, then you have to change email with all your companies and this could take some time!
scan, I don't have a problem with Yahoo mail. It's the mail from the ACL editors that aren't getting delivered. Nancy never got back to me. Now, when I do a shop for them, I make sure to check my messages on their site a few times a day.

If I don't see the normal thank you for a great job email the next day, I will check the website also. They have a good system to notify you on the front page if there is a request for additional information.
I'm not getting the "request for additional information" emails from the editors. I have to go to their website for that.

The thing is, I used to get them via email. No more.

That's really weird, Honny. I have an antiquated aol mail address (my kids give me flack for not switching to gmail but I would have to changed so many profiles for MSCs and other things it's not worth it). I do have to check my spam folder regularly, but I always get my ACL emails with no problem. Wonder what the glitch is with yours?
JAS, I don't think the glitch is on my end with Yahoo. I think it's on ACL's side.

I changed emails a few years ago. It wasn't as much of a headache as I thought it would be. I initially changed it with the MSCs I was active with, then changed the ones I was not active with as the schedulers' emails filtered in.

When you view email from the editor requesting info on ACL's site, is the email address in the normal format - editor.name@a-closer-look.com?
Mert, I have two emails for the editor. I don't know which one I used. One was the format you listed, the other just the first name.

About a year ago, a shopper reported that Yahoo was directing some of her email to Trash. Check your Trash folder for any surprises. Since it's been a couple of months without a reply from Nancy, maybe she is gone. But, if she's still there, and communicative, you could try copying her email address from the ACL site, paste it, and send her an email, asking her to reply back. Then, just wait and watch your Inbox. You could try that with any other ACL editor whose email is not reaching you.

Hope you get this figured out.
Thanks Mert!

I received a e-mail from ACL about two weeks ago saying that I can do another pizza shop for them. I did one about 3 or 4 months ago.

When I received my work schedule, I e-mail her back letting her know thew date I can complete it. I e-mailed her on Friday (Before Labor Day). As of Wed morning have not heard back.

I know Monday was a holiday and they are trying to play catch up.
My issue was with the editors, not the schedulers. I have to check their sight after a shop to see if the editors sent me anything.
