When a company closes or merges

I just saw from Lorri's post regarding Service Excellence, I did notice that the shoe shop migrated to Intellishop sometime last year. However, I had no clue that Service X was sold. Did anyone get an announcement from Service X or Intellishop? I understand that owner was ill of Service X and prob was not in mind set to send out email, but would have been nice if Intellishop sent an announcement. Or did it go to my spam? I see Service X is still listed on the Master Shopping Company list, I just went on their sassie site which is still active and searched the whole country and nothing came up. So does this mean all shops moved to Intellishop and there is no longer a Service X? I have not seen any of the chocolate shops with Intellishop...

As far as I know, there is no longer an active Service Excellence. That does not mean that all of the clients decided to go to Intellishop. Clients have a tendency to move from one MSC to another. Some clients are infamous for seemingly trying every MSC in existence.

Sometimes an MSC sends out an announcement of changes. The one I recall was the merger of Mystery Reseachers, Beyond Hello, and Insula Research into what is now SeeLevel HX.

Yep, I got that announcement =) Just hard to know which company is active or closed their door. Especially a lot of the ones on my list are the one shop wonders in my area, so sometimes I don't see a shop with a particular MSC for a long time... So until the post by Lori, I just assumed that Service X was slow...

I believe that I received a notification about this quite some time ago. I removed Service X from my list at least several months ago. I can't recall how I found out. Maybe they had something on their Sassie site if they didn't send an email?
