QSI had an issue with their shoppers working for Elite at one time. Not sure if it's still an issue.

If you search a shopper on the PILB site you can see the companies that employ them.
Although I haven't worked in NV. for awhile, most of my jobs were scheduled by QSI. There was another, but I forgot, will follow up when memory returns.

Market Force? Someone said that if you work for Market Force in Nevada, they will not allow you to work for them in other states as an IC, but I don't know whether that is correct or not.
Roflwofi, that is correct and happened to me. I worked quite a bit in Vegas, and was deactived by MF. That is a no no for them, but many other Co.'s have jobs in Vegas, especially the high end retail.

QSI has the contract with MF...or at least did when I was with them. They told me straight-up that I had to choose because NV or all other states and I chose NV because they paid better there.
Different Nevada companies do different types of jobs. Knowing which one to use as a scheduling source for a particular type of job is important. Email Pam at info@imscinfo.com and she can help.
Wales, see QSI & HS Brands. QSI is actually a pretty cool place to drop by and speak with the VP (Lety) & the director of HR.
Steve, I tried a search on that site this morning, to no avail, which is why I posted here. Eric, and all others, I will start checking each of those named to see how they operate. I am doing some recruiting for a small MSC that just got a bunch of locations in NV and, of course, cannot use its in-house schedulers there.

Not sure if I should have put who Market Force works with in Nevada...... so I deleted that. It's not true what you heard. You are not an employee of Market Force. (not saying you said that but they don't decide who you can work with). You have two pay structures. One is the Nevada pay and one is the Reimbursement pay. Market Force is the only MS provider for Nevada that pays you reimbursements themselves. All other MS that work in Nevada pay you both Reimbursement and Shopper Fees in your paychecks. Market Force's $3.00 closed fee does not apply in Nevada. You are paid the full Nevada rate, which is higher than they themselves normally pay you. If you did a $8 taco shop (example) you are paid $12 in Nevada. The pay rates are different because you are an employee (taxable income) and not an IC. .

Apparently in Nevada the shopper would be an employee of the Market Force affiliate or surrogate. Whether it is misguided or not, my guess is they find it less confusing to keep their employees and independent contractors separate.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

This is also not really true. There are plenty of other companies that reimburse you themselves...and the reason MF pays a higher base rate is because QSI negotiated that higher rate for their employees.

I would recommend talking with Lety at QSI. DId you meet her at any of the conferences? She came to the MSPA one so I assume she comes to the IMSC stuff as well.
