MarketForce Being too Pushy?

Has anyone else had the experience of Market Force being too pushy? I keep getting calls at all hours after asking to be put on a morning or afternoon call only list. I work a regular scheduled job from 3am to 11am and getting calls at 8:59 PM is getting old. Additionally, they call and will not take no for an answer. I have a hard time understanding some of the overseas individuals accents, and it seems I also get a lot of Indian or middle eastern folks with heavy accents calling too. Anyway, I can't seem to get them off the phone without almost hanging up on them. They keep asking me if they can authorize more pay, more distance, and asking me to take shops that are 90-120 minutes away after I tell them it isn't possible. I even told them I could not take an 11am-2pm shop because I work until noon or later and would not make that window and their solution was to ask if I could do it the next day, or the next, or next. I flat out told one guy "No, I cannot. My husband and I have plans" and he said he would call back in an hour after I asked my husband?

I'm on a rant now-- but it's getting too pushy. I love to pick up the occasional food shops to get paid $5-$9 but dang, I don't want to travel 180 miles in one day to eat a burger and get reimbursed minimally on my day off. -_- NO MEANS NO.

I have in the past had similar issues. Now I just don't answer the phone when the overseas schedulers call.

do they call on your cell? block the numbers...you should even be able to block the landline.

with my cell, blocked numbers automatically go to voicemail so the calls do go through, MF may deactivate you if you completely block the numbers..

the number that comes up on my cell says its from California (925)

I have their number memorized and just don't pick up when I see it on caller I.D. or my cell phone. I don't block it because I've been able to score some really nice bonuses by picking up when I know it's them and I know I'm free to do a shop in the next couple of days. If I happen to pick up and the shop time frame isn't convenient for me, I just say I can't do it. But I do give them the reason--and tell them I'd do it if I could (which I would, most of the time), but it's just impossible for that day or that time period. I don't usually get a hard time from them, although I usually do have to say "no" twice. But I never really feel as if they're being "too push." They just need to get the job done.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Asking twice is too pushy to me.

Well, when they say, "Are you sure"? and I say "Yes," that's the end of it. So, personally, I don't feel as if it's too pushy....

I don't block the number because when they call it's usually with a bonus, and usually I can take a shop. The one time I answered and couldn't was because it was a dinner shop they needed done that day or Sunday. I was work the evening shift that day and the shop is about 20 minutes from the office and Sunday I was going out of town. He asked when I'd be back and I said next Saturday and he was like "Hmmm. Okay thank you. " and that was the end of it.
They do call and I ignore the call when I see it on days/weeks that are too busy to try to squeeze one in (same with all other schedulers too)
I wish they'd call me right now thought...I have no shops tonight and I'm bored.
I save their numbers in my contacts. I do agree that some of them are too persistent. If anything, at least throw a bonus at me to get my attention. Asking me what it takes no longer gets my attention as they never like my number once it's gotten to that level. They aren't very good negotiators.

The caller ID on my phone actually says "Pushy Scheduler." It's been that way for a few years. Somehow or another I just got used to it, or they got less pushy which I doubt if you are having problems with them. If I don't feel like dealing with them I just don't answer. If I am interested, I just flat out tell them what it will take to get me to take the shop and if I won't take the shop I'm very firm right off the bat. They don't bother me any more.
I honestly haven't ever had a scheduler (overseas or otherwise) be pushy with me.

One time I got a call on a shop that had sat on the boards because it was XX miles away. The nice lady kept increasing the price.smiling smiley .... And when we were all done talking, she upped it a little more $$ (than she agreed upon)....I did not complain at that point....

I didn't feel it was pushy but as my mind was trying to make this long distance shop work, she kept adding more money! smiling smiley

Why can't all my shops be like that?
I personally don't mind their calls at all since I usually end up with a nice bonus for picking up the phone. In the rare instance that I don't want to do their shop (or maybe can't do it) I just don't answer the call (as already mentioned by several other posters).

I've never been called. I see the same shops( gas stations, cell phone and some fast food) sit untouched for weeks, but no one ever calls and they are never bonused.

I did not get any calls until I did a few of the shops at the base rate. Then I started to get calls for that type of shop only. I receive calls for the one shop that I do most often and don't get any calls for the other types of shops that I rarely, if ever, have done.

Maybe the same will happen for you?!

they called this morning for a last minute shop. I said cant do it, but my schedule has changed. He told me to call him if things changed, no caller ID on home phone, I tried to google their #, but they wont pick up, can someone message me the direct line that will pick up? He offered a bonus and applying on line cant get bonus.
Got a call at 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning. I made the mistake of answering it 'cause I was asleep and not paying attention to the readout on my phone that said: Market Force. I agree with other folks. If MF would post these last-minute shops with a reasonable fee offered, it would sure save MF money and give me back some z-z-z-z time.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.

I have only received one or two calls from them over 7 years or so and those consisted of asking me to drive to a terrible neighborhood at least 45 minutes drive each way with no bonus whatsoever. If you don't like these calls another solution would be to move to Southern Calif.
I keep getting calls from them too. They really struggle with understanding that one of the fast food locations here is behind airport security and that no $12 bonus is enough to buy a ticket. I've gotten a couple of nice bonuses taking their calls but lately it's getting out of control.
I have had experiences with extremely pushy schedulers. They seem to be the overseas (somewhere) ones. I understand that it is a cultural difference and they are not meaning to be rude. However, I find it annoying anyway. I usually didn't answer the phone unless the caller ID gives me a state, which means it's an American scheduler. Lately though there is a very polite young man who calls. I don't mind him at all.
I just finally quit shopping for market force, not only did I get really sick of the 7-8 AM SUNDAY MORNING CALLS. I got sick of being cheated out of my promised bonus. for them. They don't pay a fair rate for any of their theatre stuff. That is all I have done for them.

Shopping til' I drop, no joke here!

The state ID thing does not always work. The MF schedulers who call me are from overseas (Philippines) but the caller ID shows CA. I never get calls at weird hours like some of you complain about. If I remember correctly, there is a section in your profile (or there was one when I registered with them) where you can set you available hours. I only receive phone calls during the allotted time slot.
I always take the call. If it's a shop at an outside tourist mall and parking is a two block hike in either 98 degree sun or pouring rain to get to the food court, I will tell them that my absolute lowest fee for that location is a $40 bonus.

They will get off the phone quickly and go on to the next person. If it is the right time of the month, they will call back when the shop window is closing or I will get a call back from an American scheduler and this means they reached the end of the call list and everyone has been burned on this location that shops for them and I get the shop at my rate. They keep notes of returned offers and if your the only one willing to do it, then they will call you back.
