New Car Shop

I recently hired to do a mystery shopping assignment for new car sales. It wad new to me do I was excited to do the job for them. They reminded me that paperwork had to be turned in before 10 am, the next morning.
BestMark has a great reputation, so I was so happy to work for them. I started the paperwork about 8 pm. I did take several breaks, but not over 15 minutes. My paperwork was completed at 9:15 am. No, I never slept. The price was less than $20. Has anyone else had this problem?

I did one new car shop. As I recall the report took me 6 hours or so to complete. I don't plan to do a second one.
Holy cow! I was considering doing one out of town for $45 but it sounds like this would need to pay $200 to make it worth my time! By the way, the local new car sales shops pay only $17, which I would never do. But now I know not to do them even if bonused. Thank you for saving me from that torture.

I am happy that we saved you BEFORE you took that job for $17. It is not worth it at all! Hey, thats what we are here for.

Bestmark car shops don't require a test drive so they take less time at the dealership. They still are not worth $17 as the narrative will require 30 to 90 mins depending on your experience and writing capabilities. So 30 mins at dealership should take no more plus 90 max for report say 2 hours. $40 is fair starting IMHO.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I've done a few of these shops... I find that if I do a few simple things, the write-up goes very easily... First, I GeoVerify my arrival and my departure. That way I don't even have to think about timings. Then, I actively engage myself in the transaction. This helps me to remember what the salesman says. Third, unless I really wan to, I don't do the test drive. Fourth, I make sure I get the business card. Fifth, when I get into my car to leave, I turn on the voice recorder, pretend like I am on the phone and say every detail I think I'm going to need.

I write up the shop as soon as I can - while its fresh. There are several narratives, but all they really want is a blow-by-blow account of what happened. I whip these out very quickly.

The write up takes 20-30 minutes. So, these things are 35-50 minute shops (total). Is $17, too low? Probably. I only tend to pick them up for over $20 and if they are super convenient. I've done a couple for over $50, which is a different story.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
The first time you do the dealership shops they seem long. Second time not hard at all...will take one hour max. I did a casino shop and that took 4 1/2 -5 hours to write up. Never again!! I had 8 interactions. It paid $100 plus reimbursements. It was worth it but your guest should be a shopper too so they can help with the write up.
