Does anybody else notice a significant lack of shops at MarketForce over the past week or so? Cheers!

Yup....I've seen only 3 shops over the past 5 days.
I was wondering about that. I thought it was just me. All I've seen for the past two weeks are cell phone shops.
My area looks about normal for this time of the month. They typically post a lot of the shops here at the beginning of the month/end of the previous month and the more popular ones get snapped up quickly.
They sent out a lot of bonus emails trying to lock up shops weeks ahead of time, plus made phone calls. They are being more aggressive towards filling shops ahead of time.

I've found the opposite true this month! I don't know if they are just trying to cut back on bonuses or what but typically every month I get a call between the 8th and 14th offering a bonus for a certain fast food shop. This month I got a call around the 8th but the bonus was about 2/3 of what it normally is. When I brought this to the scheduler's attention, he said he couldn't bonus that high yet (so I passed). I thought it was odd because it's the same bonus I've gotten for months. I've sent two emails now (one towards the end of last week, one yesterday) offering to take all of the shops in the area for this fast food place (for the same bonus I've gotten for months) but I guess they passed. I thought it was odd.
They tried the small bonus with me. When they called back two days later I ended up getting more than before. Another factor we all forget is our competition, which is growing. Better to pick up a few reasonable bonuses than over price ourselves out of everything.

With MF, I believe the worst thing one can do is email or call them and ask for a bonus. They will avoid you. I wait for them to call me, it puts me in control.

I'm was wondering if there was a glitch. When I logged on yesterday there were no shops (I actually thought maybe I was deactivated). I refreshed my search and 15 were there, mostly the wireless. Then I logged on an hour later and there were about 80, wireless, fast causuals and fast foods..
i was shocked i got two. one for last weekend in august and first weekend in september
Yep. Sparse. However, there are plenty of low-fee revealed audits. I feel like some of the regular shops are missing.

Those are the ones I've been looking for and I haven't seen them at all like I usually do.

I've been thinking a lot about this since you posted it because the last thing I want to do is shoot myself in the foot with any mystery shopping company. I guess I'm a little confused as to why they would be annoyed when I email them. I don't email them as soon as the post the jobs. Typically I wait for them to call me but occasionally I've emailed them with an offer (nothing extreme--I always ask for more when they call) for a bonus similar to what I've received in the past at the same time in the month (or cycle) that I've received in the past. Sometimes they schedule it, other times I hear nothing. Doesn't it make more sense for them to respond to an email than to pay a scheduler to do everything with me over the phone? If they can't bonus, then they just delete it, like I delete their emails every day. I got a call from them today and they gave me the same bonus that they've given me in the past 6 or so months but normally I would have had them completed about a week ago by now.
Great input. It is not that I think we annoy them, they just do not want to set a precedent. As far as paying a scheduler, they are already paying them. Doesn't matter if they email you or talk on the phone.

My comment was based on my experience, with them and in my life. In many cultures, they one that makes the offer is the one obligated to closing it. That's why negotiators are taught that whoever opens their mouth first loses. In essence, when MF calls me they will not hang up without offering me (eventually) the current maximum bonus available. Likewise, if I initiate the bonus request they have no obligation to close the deal.

I have 6 scheduled shops in the next 5 days. All are above the original amounts, most are doubled.

It's been dead in my area for two months. Very few shops and/or clients. Considering there is a gigantic mall nearby, that's not good.
