I have noticed that, as you prove yourself with a MSC, a shopper tends to get better assignments. I'm not sure I would call tenured independent contractors the "in crowd." That seems to denigrate what we do. We are professionals running our own small businesses. The better job we do, the more and better jobs we get in many cases (not all, of course). There are some MSCs that do not value experience and track record. Those companies who do not respect experience seem to make all jobs available to new shoppers and there is little benefit to building a relationship with them. Market Force is a good example. I'm happy to work for companies that give preference to the contractors who have previously done a good job for them.
And,. yes, Bare has some great jobs. They are a nice company to work for. I would say it would be worth your while to build a track record with them.
