Is Ath circling the drain? Did they lose their biggest client?

I know there has been plenty of Ath talk here and this post might be better placed elsewhere, but they cancelled a shop i had scheduled for Saturday this morning (Thursday) and no one is answering emails or phones there.....hmmm.....

No issues on my end. I got an email listing some assignments this morning and my shops for tomorrow morning are still scheduled. Maybe they just pulled the location you had scheduled.
Wine, in this area, they have the one BIG client, and quite a few small ones. I've done three different banks this week, including the main one.

As for their late payments, it could be a quarterly thing from their big client. If the big guys delay payments twice a year, that has a snowball effect.

I don't think they are in trouble.

HunnyBunny- Just got an email from Ath...they said the reason why the shop was cancelled was"...becasue it must have been overdue..." yet the same email says it is "DUE" on 10/15....again...hmm.....
As I said at the end of the long post about Ath being in financial trouble, my payments have been coming in as normal. They are authorized at the end of the month following the shop and received some time before the 10th of the next month. Slow but consistent. I would do more with them but I plan my month out in advance and add the Ath shops as I can fit them in. If they gave more lead time I would do more shops as they are profitable when bonused. I also find their schedulers easy to reach and cooperative.
I don't wish to fight with Jake and you may have been paid on time but here is what I have experienced with Ath Power

In both March and Sept payments were late for me and other shoppers. Many shoppers had to contact ath to get paid in both these months myself included. In march they replied to the inquiry on payment emails to me and other shoppers. In Sept they did not reply but did pay me and other shoppers after inquiring. Also in sept they sent out an email to people who had preformed a 2 part account opening shop trying to only pay $25 instead of the $125 that was agreed to saying their client cancelled the shop. When shoppers complained they reversed decision and agreed to pay the full 200. I was one who did this shop and was paid in full the correct $125 for the second part. In Oct payments were received on time again and in fact were 4 days early.

After taking all this information could ATH Power be in financial trouble and at risk of going under? IMHO yes they could. This is why I am waiting for at least one more month of timely payments with no complaints of late payments here which would be Nov. Then I will ease back into shopping for them taking one or two small shops. If they have 6 consecutive months of timely payments which would be thru march payments then I will go back to normal load with them. Again this is just my thoughts and others can do as they wish.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Huh?

I signed up for a phone shop to do on a Saturday. The request and confirmation emails both said that it was a phone shop. Since it was a phone shop, I chose another state to take advantage of the time difference.

When I clicked on the shop to make the call, it turned into an in person shop.

Buff, do you know if was there a pattern like that (March and September late payments) in 2015? Or years before?

Nope. ATH has always been good msp and paid timely with no late payments until march of these year. I go back about 7 years with them so cant speak beyond that. They are still a decent to good msp just not one you don't have to keep an ye on anymore. With 5 more months of timely payments and no other problems they will return to their previous status IMHO.

Okay, Buff, thanks.

March and September are the ends of quarters for banks, so I wondered if The Big One was holding onto cash to make their numbers better.

I've opened and closed savings and checking accounts over and over for the past year, since I started with ath. I always open interest bearing accounts (knowing they will be closed before the funding deadline). When I close the accounts, not once did I get my interest pennies.
