KSS changes pay whenever

So I scheduled shops with them. Fee was $50. Go to do the shop and they change the fee to $15. So I emailed saying i accepted contract for $50. Lori Kern says "it was a typo" And says she will remove the shops but they are obviously not going to pay $50. So...if I made that "typo" I don't get paid. But they can break a contract and it's all good? Awesome

Did you write the reportconfused smileyconfused smiley
It sounds like a error that should of been corrected before the shop by KSS.
What does "Go to do the shop...." mean? Does it mean you logged in to read the guidelines so you could do the shop and noticed the lower fee? Or does it mean that you actuallly performed the shop and completed the report before noticing the discrepancy?

Since you did not say "I did the shop and turned in the report," I'm thinking you noticed the discrepancy BEFORE doing the shop and e-mailed KSS. Which is correct? You also say you scheduled "shops" plural with them, but then you say "I go to do the shop" singular. How many shops was it? Can you be more specific?

Lorrie reads and posts here on the forum, so she may have a response and may give us more information about the situation.
Yes when reading the guidelines. She replied and said it was a typo and obviously they wouldn't be paying $50 for an easy shop. She said only I scheduled them and that they hadn't been audited yet, but they were on the board? She first said she emailed everyone and said it was a mistake. She then said I was the ONLY person who scheduled these shops, and she hadn't even sent out the emails to shoppers yet. Sorry but not sorry, if I made that "typo" or mistake, I wouldn't have been paid. But
I scheduled 3 shops...ALL said the same amount. Then 1.5 hours later, the amount was changed, on all of them. We all know accuracy is vital to this business. I feel EVERYONE should be held to those same standards.
Look. If you had already done the shop, then yes. I get you are disappointed about this, but it's not worth burning any bridges over. Move on.
I agree with JASFLALMT, that, having not performed the shop, this is not horrible. That's why I asked if when you said "go to do the shop" you meant open the website to read the directions. If the typo was fixed within an hour and a half, before you did the shop, and before you even read the guidelines, I think not paying you $50 a shop for a typo is reasonable. This is not uncommon. Sure, you are disappointed. You thought you were making a big score. Before the shop is done, things can change. Shops can be canceled, or a shopper might cancel, and, of course, if the shopper canceled, the shopper would not be billed for the amount of the shop he did not complete.

Get over it.

Charmfire, if they reneged on the agreement, perhaps you have a legal case. But if you read the ICA it probably stipulates where that would occur.

Sorry that this happened, but at least you did not waste time performing the shop. At this point I would press any advantage and try to turn it to my favor. Such as getting favorable treatment from the MSC in future shops.

People make mistakes. If you had done the shop, she would have owed you the $50 -- and she probably would've paid it. If it's not worth the $15 to you, I'm sure you'll be able to back out of it without penalty.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
People make mistakes. This mistake was corrected in a reasonable amount of time. KSS is a scheduling company, go to the MSC that has this shop and see what the fee shows. I have had $150 shop removed from me for no reason that I know of. Yes, I was unhappy, but at least I didn't do the shop.
Since the discrepancy was corrected, you could email the scheduler and asked to be removed from the 3 shops that you accepted to do since you agreed to do it for $50 a shop, not $15 a shop. How would you feel if you performed the shop and later discovered that the fee amount was incorrect? At least you didn't waste time doing the shop.
