huskie9, I feel for you, but why didn't you just re-enter the report? Couldn't you have just started it all over again? It wouldn't have taken you another 3 hours to enter the second time around, since you already knew what you were going to be saying....
I don't recall if I've entered a report in the Prophet system (I think I just did one recently) but as others have said, it's imperative to save your work and often!
And it is ridiculous that in this day and age, the software can't be modified to provide a "save now" prompt.
I tend to do it a bit differently than many others. As well as saving often as I enter my report, when I do long narrative sections, I copy and paste those from the report to a Word doc as a backup. It's faster and easier for me, personally, to write the report originally right in the form, directly under the questions instead of doing it the other way around. I usually only copy and paste the longer sections; I figure I can re-enter three or four sentences pretty quickly, but not multi-sentence or multi-paragraph ones.....
I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
