HS Brands

So I'm scheduled to do a restaurant shop in a town an hour and a half away from me today. I was supposed to do it on a day I was already planning on going there, but due to unforseen circumstances I had to change the date. A friend of mine just texted me and told me the restaurant is closed permanently. Bummer sad smiley Here's my issue, I accepted a couple of other shops in the area to make the trip worth my time. Now I have to go down there, regardless. Do any of you know if HS Brands will pay me for going to a closed location? It closed a few days ago, you'd think they would have let me know. If it wasn't for my friend, I wouldn't have known. I'm hoping I can get paid something for my trouble, and I'm frustrated that a scheduler hasn't contacted me about the closure. What are your thoughts on this?

Read your guidelines - they typically cover closed locations.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
I have read my guidelines and they say nothing about closed locations. They don't even cover it in the FAQ's. It's frustrating.
You know it's closed. Email them and tell them.
You want to go by and take a picture for $5 or something? If the scheduler knew it was closed, they'd have told you.

Absoluely. With a restaurant shop, the value is usually in the meal reimbursement. If the restaurant is closed and you can't order a meal, you will get no reimbursement. The best you can hope for is the small fee. If there is no fee, I'm guessing you'll get nothing. If you already know it is closed, why make a trip to another town to take a photo so you can get a $0 or a $5 fee? I agree with SoCalMama that HS Brands probably does not know the location has closed, and,if HS Brands does not know, likely the KSS Scheduler does not know.
I'm driving all the way because I have 3 other shops scheduled. But now I have to buy dinner out sad smiley
Check with Strategic Reflections, Reality Based Group, or Marketforce to see if there are any food shops over that way that are designed for one person...oh. I see that this was November 9, sorry I got to the party late.
I went to the location and took pictures. I submitted the report and emailed the scheduler about the closure. She responded that she would "let the client know." I haven't heard anything else. Hopefully they pay me something.

They shouldn't pay you. You could have just emailed them, since you knew in advance. If you didn't know and you happened upon the restaurant and it was closed, that would be different.
