Market Force Early Morning Call Then Cancelation

OK, this is just me venting. So they wake me up, early this morning, needing a fast food shop done tomorrow. They say $7, I say $10. They say OK but you have to absolutely commit to doing it, which I agree. An hour later I see the email that the job has been canceled. Irritating!

I had one say can you do this shop for 12 dollars? I said $25. Then they said can you do it for $24? I said alright. Guess every dollar counts to them.

They offered $12 on the one I did today. I asked for $15. We settled on $14, which is less than I've been getting, but the place is close to me and to my grocery store, which I'd planned on visiting today, anyway. So that worked out....

I'm not sure if I'm more irritated by them making me absolutely commit to a job they don't feel the slightest comitment to or the fact that they woke me up way too early on a Sunday morning to waste my time.

I guess you could always deactivate them from your MSC list!
I had one ask me if I could do a shop for $8. It was on the board at $30 when she called me. I told her it was $30 on the board and I said she would need to beat that price. smiling smiley
It's a schedulers job to schedule the shop. If the shop was cancelled then the client cancelled the shop.

Not necessarily. I have been assigned a shop with a negotiated bonus that another shopper flaked on. Within the hour, I received another phone call letting me know that the original shopper did indeed perform the shop but missed the deadline to submit the report. That is why it was removed from their shop log and assigned to me.

I asked the scheduler if the other shopper was going to receive the bonus that we had agreed upon for me to perform the shop. She said "no:" and that the shopper was doing it at base pay. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Of course the scheduler would choose that shopper's "at base pay" report over my bonused report.
I love it when the scheduler starts negotiating and after a few rounds accidentally offers more than what I last asked for.

Sorry they flaked on you @wwin

I have experienced similar. Call MF and relay the situation. Calls are recorded. When this happened to me, they asked for time to review the recorded call. I was called back by an apologetic scheduler. The shop was then correctly assigned to me.
Mert, if it were another job /another day I'd try your suggestion, it's good info to have. My schedule is tight this week with more desirable jobs than I can comfortably complete. I took this job because I have a hard time saying no to people and had a little room to fit it in.

SallyEmpireScheduling, you are right it could have been as simple as the client canceling the job. I didn't mean to insinuate it was the schedulers fault or to place blame anywhere. I was more expressing my irritation at the situation.
