Is this dealership shop worth it?

SeeLevel is desperate for a shopper in my city.

Supposedly I don't have to do a test drive or negotiations (those are ten-foot-poles for me). I would need to go tomorrow morning, and I haven't seen the guidelines yet. The bonus is worth it for the time, as long as it is approved.

I'm wondering if anyone has done these, and how much I'd be risking if I go. I haven't mystery shopped a dealership for sales in person before (I've done service and sales phone shops), so how hard is SeeLevel to work with on these?

Can't even guess without knowing what the offer/bonus is.

I've done a few in the $75 range, and wouldn't touch one for less than that.
SeeLevel is always desperate to fill these shops.

Before you do the shop, you take a one hour training that is very informative.

You make two visits to the dealership to get the lowest price possible for the two scenarios you are given.

You have to get a window sticker and price sheets. You upload the info from both into the report, and write up a short narrative.

According to the email blast, there's only 1 visit.

Let's just say that I don't think ANYONE here would pass on this bonus. I'm not worried about whether it is worth the time for the money, but I am wondering if it being rejected is a consideration I should be thinking about.
It's fine and dandy as long as the dealership give you the materials you will need. The one I visited did not and I was sent back FIVE times to try to snag the materials. The dealership was 35 miles from here, when you do the math you see that a total of 350 miles plus hours of effort to get something without looking suspicious just didn't pay off.

I like the single visits!

You HAVE to get a copy of the window sticker and the price sheets for your scenarios. Those have the line items that need to be uploaded in the report. They can be emailed to you as well.

I did a single visit last week. I got the window sticker during the visit, and it took two days to get the price sheets. I completed the report, and Rich said "Thanks, submitted for payment."

It's a moot point now. After speaking on the phone with the scheduler, she didn't realize that the email I was looking at said no test drive. The shop with the crazy bonus does have a test drive.

So that make three phone calls in three days for shops I've had to turn down for the same reason.
The test drives are not a problem. The negotiation, especially with the SeeLevel reports, may be. Several posters have reported that the project manager is very particular about the negotiation reports.
I don't have a driver's license, so that's why I won't do them. I normally have a blanket policy that I won't do dealerships for those two reasons.
I don't give my license for the negotiation shops.

Taking a picture of the sticker and price works. i suggest taking it before entering the dealership. Some are two visits, some are one which doesn't pay 75.00...price reflects amount of work. The test drive requires making a copy of drivers license. I have done many, and am tired of them, but that leaves more for you... .knock yourself out.

Mine was listed at 30.00, I asked for 75.00 (work took close to 4 hours.). I think I saw 75.00 with Seelevel.
This wasn't Seelevel. Prepare yourself to work on the two visits.

All of the ones I have done were with SeeLevel. $75-$100 (bonused) for two visits, and $55 for one visit.

I enjoy car shops, so it is likely worth it to me. However, I do avoid any shop that requires that another person produce something - such as a written quote. If a dealer refuses to give me a "required" written quote, I'll get a verbal one and push again - and write it up as such. I also audio record a lot of these shops so I can back up my claim.

What company did you find that paid $75? for a dealership.

I have done dealerships for several companies.

They pay what I ask, or I don't do the shop.

They are free to try to find shoppers to do the assignments for less.

I won't do them for less, because the prep and report are time-consuming. Not to even mention the time on the lot/test drive.

BestMark, See Level, Monterrey, Intelli-shop all seem happy with my shops. There's probably others I have done them for.

But there aren't many shoppers in my area, which makes a huge difference. I'm sure if there were more shoppers that they could easily find shoppers to do the assignments for less.
I do those with a bonus. The highest one I did for them was $100!

They had the $17 shops for $95 at the end of September. They flew off the board, and I haven't seen them since.

Don't forget that intellishop also has dealership shops.

The last Dealership I did for Intelli paid 17.00 and talk about a problem, they are the cheapest Company.
