Marketforce shop for test purposes only.

Currently there is a retail shop listed in my area with no fee and no reimbursement. I was thinking it was an error and the fee would be added later. I went to the qualifying questions and the first one says that the shop is for testing only and should not be accepted by a MF shopper. The rest of the questions are the normal type that are generally asked for a retail shop. Never saw a shop listed this way. I didn't accept it but wonder what they are trying to accomplish.

Thanks Dave but I was just curious as to what they are testing. Seems like an odd way to run a test. In reading the shop questionnaire again, it does says it's a client test. So maybe they want to get the clients approval before releasing the project. I would think they could do that offline.

I think you are over thinking this. They can test however they want.

They experienced several issues listing new clients recently. They also have issues with current listings. Potentially the issues do not appear on their test server. Regardless, it is what it is.

As a former techie, I suspect the system admins needed to test some functionality of the MF website and particularly the shop listing or testing functions. They had a couple of options for doing the testing, do the test while the site is live with the disclaimer you saw, or take the site offline to do the testing. There are pros and cons to each option, but it appears they chose to test while the site was live.

Some companies take their website offline every night to do updates, patches, or testing (STN comes to mind). Most companies probably don't have such a structured maintenance schedule.

Market Force recently redesigned their website. Maybe they are testing it out for compatibility.

I put it down to a little too much holiday cheer at the MFI office party.

Seriously, that posting has been running in my area for about four days now. If someone answers the questions, post what happened next. (My first thought was that MFI would strike the shopper from the rolls because they were dumb enough to answer the first question: This shop is for testing only and should not be accepted by a Market Force shopper. Yes/No.)

BTW, the questions use a specific brand name.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.

I can't even figure out what would be the correct answer to the first question which isn't even phrased as a question. My first thought was that MF was running a test to see if shoppers were paying attention to the questionnaire. Or to see if anyone would accept a shop with no fee and no reimbursement.
