Marketforce just paid me in Canadian Dollars. I live in Texas!

Hi guys, I just looked to see if they had paid me and they had. I said, "Yay!" and logged off. I logged back in to tell a friend of mine how much I made and I noticed that it said CAD, not USD. I live in Texas!

So, everyone! Go back and make sure that you were paid in the correct currency.

How do you exchange that when it's direct deposit? Hopefully, their error will be in your favor.

Oh, interesting! I'll have to go check that out. I saw the notification from my bank this morning but definitely wouldn't have thought to check the currency.

If it's in your bank and the payment is what it is supposed to be, then you were paid USD. Otherwise there would have been a currency conversion and the amount would be slightly different.
I notified the help desk and they notified accounting. They got back with me and asked if every shop I did last month was in Canadian dollars. I went to check and it was fixed. The amount in CAD was the exact amount of USD in my US bank account, so there was no exchange. Must have been a software glitch on the website and somehow did not translate when I was paid. My friend checked his and his was also in CAD but is now fixed.

I don't care what it says as long as I get paid in USD in the end. I think the Canadian dollar is worth less than the US dollar.
I'm glad it all worked out I just needed to comment that the title of this post is the funniest I've seen in quite awhile. I literally lol'd thanks for the laugh haha

Get your conversations correct is is not slight.....

Mod note: There is a significant difference between a CAD and a USD ($1CAD = 76c USD) but there are more positive ways to post that information

Mod note: There is a significant difference between a CAD and a USD but mis-stating that does not constitute a "total absolute lie". Please keep your posts positive.
I quoted you verbatim. It is unclear what you are saying in your post. As far as you calling me a bully, that is completely hypocritical, as you rarely have anything to contribute to the forum other than argumentative and combative, negative nonsense.

Mod note: Please endevour to accentuate the positive
canadamommy-not be rude or offend but you posted "Get your conversations correct is not slight" then trailed off. Did you intend to complete the post? Jasflalmt was referring to currency conversions, not conversations.
I think @CANADAMOMMY meant to say "get your conversions correct, it is not slight" meaning she was telling @JASFLALMT to get her conversions correct, that the difference between US and Canadian is not a slight difference. But I'm not sure because I've toggled CM now and can't see what she posts anymore unless someone quotes her. I haven't found her posts helpful, and telling another commenter to "get something correct" in a confusing and ungrammatical way (aside from being rude) just isn't very helpful. I'm considering the loss of her comments to be no great loss based on her posts over the last few months.

I'm sure she'll respond with a few words about how wrong I am, and maybe what a jerk or a bully I am too.. that's fine, I won't be able to see it and you all can just chuckle at seeing what she throws into the empty void.

I'll try not to quote her when she responds, LOL. Oh, and you know whatever it is will be rude because...well...um...well...it makes her feel better to be rude, for some weird reason.

Mod note: Please refrain from baiting the bull. Be positive
Some people are miserable like that JAS. Don't make her deep rooted issues your problem.

The Canadian dollar is roughly one U.S. dollar, but not quite. When I was in Toronto a while ago, we found that things cost a bit more. But when I was in Niagara Falls last, I used my credit card and did not worry about the rates. They took care of it for me and made the charges in U.S. dollars. Just checked the conversion rates, and 1 U.S. dollar is going for 1.31 CADs. So if you wanted to buy a $2 Coke, you'd need 2.62 in Canada.

*I know that wasn't the point of the post at first, but I do think it's fitting to where the discussion was going. And I'm trying to be nice and constructive!
Being constructive? although it is political commentary of a sort, perhaps the msc overheard many Americans say they were moving to Canada. They may have decided to give you some Canadian currency to get started with in your new life for the next 4 to 8 years.

There CANADAMOMMY goes again breaking the posting guidelines of being positive!

And what positive contribution does your post add? You are annoyed about an interaction on another thread so you followed CANADAMOMMY here to comment on another issue. Real positive.
