Marketforce and the email asking for info

So... they have a client who wants info about local businesses, but it is not an assignment, they want us to provide the info to them for free? Do I have this right??

I was just coming on here to say the same thing! Exhibit A of why I hate marketforce. They've been posting those surveys to win a prize drawing for a couple years (another program created to circumvent having to pay for information). Now they're just straight asking for free info. Pardon my french marketforce but you can go shove it.

I did win a $50 amazon gc from their survey once. Their surveys have gotten ridiculously long however, so I no longer complete them. But at least that info was from my own head, I didn't have to venture out to get it!

Do us all a favor and stop filling those out....they only get away with those surveys because people actually do them. Make them pay each person for their info please

I started filling one out a while back. Got bored after 2 minutes and quit. Forget that, now they get deleted

I did one a couple of years back. Never again. I delete them all now. Wish I could just direct it to the junk mail basket. :-)

True Isiah. I received a survey from a MSC today. But, it was all questions pertaining to how I will be spending time watching the Super Bowl. It too offered $50 drawing. I don't recall who the MSC was.

That was not MarketForce. This is not asking opinion. This is asking for prices and promotions!! Things we would actually have to work to find. And since it's "not an assignment" it comes with $0 pay!

When I read that email, I thought that I wasn't awake yet. Then I reread it and realized that I was actually awake.

We are ICs and want better shops with better pay. By assisting the MSC we are participating in growing our business. Since I am willing to fill out FF surveys to get a future discount I am willing to partner with the MSCs to improve my opportunities.

I don't know what information they asked you folks for, but they asked me for movie promo info. I've checked the MF other site and they have movie checks and display installations that seem to me would pay about $4 - $5 an hour. So, even if I filled out the survey and they got a client based on the survey, I wouldn't take the assignments for lack of pay and respect.

I can help you with that since I'm the OP. Marketforce sent an email asking if I knew promotions and pricing info for theaters in my area. They made it clear this was not a paid assignment, they just wanted me to gather and provide the information to them as their client was very interested. They just aren't interested in paying for this information. So, I was curious if anyone is providing their services to marketforce. I don't think anyone knows these things off the top of their head like they know their personal opinions, therefore they would be working for free.

Ok, now I understand. They need to then pay us. Improve their app to accept on site responses and make it a paying gig.
