Registering for Ardent?

I know that I submitted an application as I have received several training invites for one of their clients. Apparently my registration remains pending as my account is not set up. Does this mean that until I participate in training or eventually accept an invite for another client of theirs that my account remains pending? No access, no password, just limbo?

Adding: Do they only have the one client?

I think you figured it out. It's too bad that Ardent does not send an auto message after someone registers to tell them that they have gone on a list, but, untill there is a need for a shopper in the registrant's area, the registrant will not be an accepted shopper, will not have access to the website, will not be assigned jobs, and will not be able to view current opportunities. The registrant will get email notificfations of trainings in his area. Only after taking a training will the potential shopper get access to the website. Until training, nothing, only pending.

No, they have 3 clients. One is pretty much all over the country. The other two are only in a few locations, although one is expanding rapidly.

edited to add response to question 2 that was added.

Thanks, yep the other clients I thought I saw information on are not in my area.

I called them yesterday because I submitted an application over two weeks ago and have not heard anything back. I was told that I won't receive any communications from them until there is a training in my area but the representative did confirm receipt of my application.

Why are you delaying going to the training session?

Because I do not feel like driving in rush hour traffic for 90 minutes or more to get to one of the locations. I was hoping, eventually, one of the locations local to me would host the training.

I was invited to one training session about 3 years ago but it was filled when I went to register. Have not heard from them since then. I was wondering the same thing.
I did the training for them and do shops for one of their companies. I can't remember how long it took for them to send me an email about training. I think it was well over a month.
From what I've gathered on this board, those invites are sparse. If I get one, I'm going to make sure I can attend granted there isn't a conflict in schedule. It pays off. One of the company they shop for is literally downstairs from where I live. I go there at least once a week and it would save me some pretty change.

Isaiah,
Not sure if they give you a person to contact when they invite you to training but if you can you might want to check with them the next time they invite you to see if they ever have or plan to have a training session near where you live. My training session was close to where I live but it is a big city with many outlets. I am guessing there might be a chance they will take your name off their lists if you keep turning them down..only a guess on my part though. If you really like their food and have enough locations near where you live or generally travel it might be worth your while to make the drive once to get trained. I would not count on bonuses for their jobs but what do I know?. I live in a rarely bonused city.
My concern is they are training in the areas they need to add shoppers. Thus, it makes no sense to attend if they do not need shoppers in my area.

They train to get shoppers for a wide area. That's why there may be some traveling involved to get to the training. Also shoppers drop out all the time for a variety of reasons. I would suggest you attend the training if given the opportunity.
I emailed them a couple weeks back and told them to remove me from their contracts/lists for good. They were terrible at returning emails, and provided little to no information from the beginning on how their company works.
I have received a couple of invites from them, but the training was in Miami which is a 6 hour drive from Tampa Bay. Might be ok if I could find a hotel and restaurant shop, gas stations, and other shops along the way. But, think I will pass for now.
If you can make the training, it's in your best interest to do so. They are going to conduct trainings in my area soon, and I don't think they've done them for awhile. Three shoppers moved out of state, and one passed away. They really do not come around very often. I've been shopping for the last five years after attending that one 'out of the way' training all those years ago.

It's true, you will not hear from them if there is no training scheduled. Once you are trained, you will likely receive assignments each month depending on your area.

Nice people, and if you like the food, it's likely a worthy client to invest some time into. I'm on my way out, it's been a good run.

I signed up with them a few years back for the larger chain they shop for but have never been able to a training since its during the week and I generally don't know until nearly the last minute. Then last year I got an invite to a training for one of their other clients which has three restaurants in the Chicago area....and I've been doing them on a monthly basis....its not that hard and their food is pretty good.

So yea if you can get to their trainings go for it....Ardent is a good company to work for.

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.
I'm having trouble signing up w/Ardent due to needing a referral?... I've been doing this for many years but moved and looking for new options to help me get to know the area. This is the first time I saw a referral required.
Just to add I think they might be switching the training for their larger client to where you can do it on your own and take a quiz...and not have to attend a training.

And here in Chicago one of their other clients just opened up another location near downtown so more shops from them!
