OP, you need to edit the thread title and almost your entire post because you have ICA and forum violations throughout.
Maritz has fully fallen victim to the scourge that has his msing-sugarcoat the report and avoid pushback from the franchisee or GM. It kind of obviates the use of MS in the first place! Taco Bell and Pizza Hut caved on this sam issue in the 90's.

Geesh, and I constantly get in trouble with Maritz for NOT noting infractions -- especially infractions that I can't seem to find on the questionnaire or any place in the instructions!!!
Would I know if I'm being too harsh, overturned, or not citing enough? I've never been contacted about any of those things ever. Usually, it's "we cant read your receipt" or "we need a different photo of the food offer." Occasionally, it will be a different photo of something else but never have been told I missed something or was too harsh.
They always say gove the location the benefit of doubt. Its kinda strange that the client wants everything to be checked and then not feel bad after seeing thebresults either.
Since photos are required to show the violations, I am not sure what the big deal is. The guidelines explain and show examples of what is considered an excessive amount of trash. Photographing a lone toothpick in the parking lot is not a violation. Empty beer bottles, candy wrappers, cigarette butts, used needles on the ground near some bushes is an obvious violation and the obvious Party Central location.
i tend to grade on the light side for these because of the fact that they emphasize so much that it's not a white glove audit. grading heavy can always get you more heat with the company/client than grading lightly. mostly i ding them for things that could only be considered facts, such as no paper towels at an island, or the the cashier didn't have on his work shirt on. i mean if something is blatantly obvious, you need to report it, but a lot of the time it isn't.
Violations or infractions that I missed: Hoses wrong colors. Graphics misaligned. Graphics faded. One station I did last month did not have a "stand alone" canopy -- the fourth side of the canopy was the store itself. I took multiple photos and explained over and over in the comments that it was a 3-side only canopy. And the infamous, all too common, one hose for gasoline, with several different types sharing the hose (oh, no! You can't run "ethanol free" gas in the same hose with "10% ethanol added" gas -- it'll contaminate the ethanol-free with traces of ethanol! Outdated (expired) pump toppers.

And, of course, I can't tell a "bong" from a "hookah".

LOL!!!!
If my guess about the brand in question is correct, Beth is on another team. Glad to hear that Maritz will be reviewing the scoring and rejection rate of editors.

cease, the only way I can tell is that hookahs have flexible tubes attached, bongs do not.
