Seriously Maritz?

What the heck is going on with this company? Clearly, they have been hiring newbees who "think outside the box" -- way outside the box with zero mystery shopping experience or common sense. And it's getting on my last nerve.

I have tried to not let the new editors get to me too much although their lack of editing skills is frustrating.

Last night I received an email on a project scheduled for this weekend. I was asked to email or call with confirmation that I intended to complete it. Well, duh! But I bit my tongue and responded by email that I would be completing it on Sunday.

I just received a response that they want me call the site to verify it is open on Sunday. Now there are instances where that would be a legitimate request. But if one were to do their due diligence prior to sending out make-busy emails trying to prove their worth to their company, one would have discovered that this site is a major gas station/truck stop/restaurant sitting on Interstate 40 that doesn't even close for Christmas. Furthermore, they would see I have shopped this site at least 20 times. If they are closed it will be a sudden occurrence due to an act of nature, or a gas tank leak, or some other calamity on a moment's notice.

It sounds like a team member contacted you, not an editor. The editors will contact you after you have performed the shop and submitted the report. The team members make unnecessary phone calls to "show" that they are busy and hard at work.
Yes, i should have transitioned that better from editor to team member. It's been the editors getting on my nerves but now it is team members too.
I believe the "reminder" emails are generated automatically. I just delete them.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.

Agreed! If you have been shopping for Maritz for any period of time, you would know that they send those out all of the time. They are computer generated.

If I know that I'm going to perform the shop in the required time (IOW not be late - and I always do my shops on or before the due date - never late), I just ignore them.
I've been shopping with them for about five years and have completed hundreds of shops for them, maybe even a thousand or more. I have never received one of those emails until last night.
I believe the team members are just making sure their shops will be done so they are not stuck with any "Flakes" or last minute cancellations.
They are in a panic because February is the shortest month of the year and quotas have not been met.
Even shorter in Louisiana. the 28th is Mardi Gras - everything is closed (yes, even federal offices - no mail!). So that leaves the 27th as the last business day yet some rural banks are still not bonused (and many are normally closed on Saturday). Interesting.
