Anyone care to share with experience with Secret Shopper?

There is a shop available in my area. I'm wary about the mileage, only because my zip code tells me I'm 8 miles from Macadon's Rainbow Room and it's a solid 25 miles.

I'm willing to give them a try, if the initial information for the report is correct. I find it hard to believe it is as easy as it sounds. Shops where I live are scooped almost as soon as they are posted.

TIA

Is that the name of the business and Secret Shopper is the MSC? Do you need to edit your post?
If htis is Sights on Service, Secret Shopper, [www.secretshopper.com], I used to do quite a bit of work with them and I like them. The reports aren't too demanding and the editing is easy. I never heard anything from the editors, I just got paid. On time and the correct amount. A couple of years ago, they lost a few clients that were my favorites and I have not seen anything since then that I am interesting in shopping. But I would not hesitate to shop for them again if they posted an assignment I thought matched what I want to do.

The OP clearly reveals the client and the MSC.

I'm not sure what the place MA mentions is, but I am not sure it is a client, although it may be. I never heard of that place so I googled and I don't find any business in MA's area with that name. I also logged into the MSC website and I do not see a client by that name. If this is actually Sights on Service, this is NOT a multi MSC platform.

I looked up the name of the business and it is in NYC. I don't know where MA is located. And I think Isaiah was thinking of ISS.

MA must have meant something else as having been a long time forum member would not break an easy rule like that one.

MA identified the client I believe. Didn't AM identified the MSC on the platform?

MA I belive identified the client. Austin appears to have identified the MSC?

MA actually identifierd the MSC in her subjecct line, asking other forum members to share their experience with Secret Shopper. In the initial post, MA also named a location. So, in her OP, MA has named both a MSC and a location. Austin seems to have clarified to be sure of which MSC MA meant. Only MA can tell us if she actually named a client or not. She is in southern Texas and a Google search doesn't show a client by that name in Texas. I also don't see that client in the shop database for Secret Shopper. If you reported this as an ICA violation to the moderator, the moderator will make a decision aboout editing it.
Not going to report it as I don't think that's what she meant. MA will clarify eventually, I am sure.
In Texas, "The Rainbow Room" is a division of Child Protective Services. I think MA threw out that distance as a referential point that has nothing to do with mystery shopping, obviously. MA where are you, LOL? I am curious about what you meant in your post!
Ok, well to answer the question. For every shop just follow the links. You will discover the actual address as well as the instructions and guidelines. After looking the site over, I am not sure anymore if they are an MSC or a listing platform.

I saw it on jobslinger. It said to apply through secret shopper. A description of the business was given with the distance in my zip code.

There is no business located within the mileage given that fits the description.

If I broke the rules by naming the MSC and the location, I apologize.

Macadon's rainbow room is what we called McDonalds when I was in college. It was all we could afford, so we gave it a sassy name.

No problem, just fix the post. As I noted above, SS has links to the full details.

Fix the post(s), plural, as you are the only one who named any clients. Not like anyone would have known what it was by your initial description without a further explanation.
@isaiah58, can you provide a link to the website of the platform that you are talking about? I'm getting confused.
I use the app but the site is [www.secretshopper.com]

The website, I just used it, clearly reveals the client and address up front. I will have to assume that the OP did not progress beyond Jobslinger.

MASmith to answer your original question about SecretShopper. They are one of my favorite companies. Their reports are straightforward and the pay is generally good for the shops I have done for them. There are a few I never did as it did not seem worth my while. Unfortunately in my market their shops disappear . Up to last month I could snag a shop i like on the first day but now for this month they put the new jobs up after 1 AM as I looked at their website close to then and by the next morning when I woke I found the March jobs were up and all the ones I like were gone. So the jobs have increased in my area along with an increase in hungry mystery shoppers. (hungry for jobs not for food...they were not all food shops). I look directly on their site for jobs so I cannot speak to what jobslinger advertises but since the address is always there I can tell where the place is without the mileage. I find mileage is often calculated using a point at one end of a zip code. Often when I live at the end of the zip code they are not using the mileage is really off for me.
Thank you sandyf. You answered my question. You work for them because they pay.

Secret Shopper's name is being used in conjunction with another fictitious company, "Sights on Service " in a scam email going around. Someone started a now closed thread on it here on the forum in January, 2015.
The economy must be hitting the scammers as well. The January 2015 thread had them paying $350 a job up front.
In the email i got yesterday, it was only $315 a job.

If only it worked like that!

When I started working for them, I had to get up and call them at 6 AM Pacific Time on a set date to get shops. Some lady would read off a list of cities in CA (and there were dozens) and I would say, "Stop," once she named one that was close to me. Then, they mailed me the guidelines.

I've never been stiffed on a job from them. You know what? I think that my very first job EVER was for a now out-of-business game store, which I did for Sights On Service (AKA Secret Shopper). I took my son in his carriage and brought my mom along. It took about 10 minutes and paid $20. Now, the same shop would pay $9 + $1 in this industry.
I'm confused. I didn't read the rainbow room as being the client at all. Perhaps I am wrong?

I will say that I have only shopped for them once, it was a restaurant, for reimbursement only, and they don't reimburse tips even though this was a restaurant you absolutely would tip in. That gave me a bad taste in my mouth for them.

Other than that they do have 1 client that I would LOVE to do a shop for but they do not seem to have an set schedule to when they're posted so I never get it.

Email them and ask if they post on a specific day. It might actually be on the website. It used to be posted by State.
Tried that. It's a small client that doesn't shop on a set schedule. They never know when they're gonna have them until they get an order from the client. Sometimes it'll be a few months between rounds, sometimes a year.

Well, I hope you get lucky then.
They used to advertise a set day for new jobs to come out but now it seems to be just one of the days near the end of the month. Some of the clients near me have multiple shops during the month and it seems they only put up the jobs for that client for the first week or so of the month then at some mysterious time during the month the next set of dates go up and you really need to be on top of looking at their site every day to catch them. In my market the same shops I like are very popular. Some others sit around.
They have had some high reimbursement shops in the past in my market...I have a wardrobe of reimbursed $300 clothing due to their shops. Unfortunately they seem not to have that client anymore! As our pres would say, SAD.

That sounds like the one I keep looking for!
