Open Movie Check

Hi Shoppers,
I am in need of a little guidance. I have been doing open movie checks for a company and I love this kind of job as they pay promptly and the work is easy. This week I took a job and when I went to check the movie showing times I almost had a heart attack. The total number of shows for this movie is 15. In three different theaters at the location. I have had jobs in the past that had the movie I was checking in two theaters but never in three. And the time for each is so close that getting an accurate count is going to be difficult, so my question to you my fellow shoppers is do these company's ever let you have a helper in a situation like this one?
I could really use some advise on this one because I enjoy working for this company and would like to continue getting jobs from them but at the same time I can't see how I can get a accurate count for the movie if I don't have that 15 minutes before and the 15 minutes after each show begins.
So do I ask for extra help or just try to do my best under the circumstances.
Any advise offered will be greatly appreciated,
Margaretbella

Can you contact the scheduler and let them know of your concerns? If you have a good relationship with the company, I'm sure they'd be willing to work with you. I've never done any of the movie checks but every IC agreement I have ever signed has specifically stated you are to perform the shop. I think having someone else perform the shop (or any portion) especially without informing the MSC or receiving approval from them is a violation of your contract.
I realize taking someone with you on Mystery Shops is a big, NO NO so that is something I would never do.
A while back another company was looking for movie checkers and although I didn't take that job I read all of the requirements and that company said to let them know if you needed a helper, so I think the best thing for me to do is contact the company as you suggested and at least make them aware of my concerns.
I appreciate you input.
Have a good day.
Thanks
,Margaret
One of the two large theatre checking companies specifically instructs their field associates to take an assistant with them whenever there are more than two screens.

That said, one should never accept a checking assignment without first checking the show times of the subject film. With show times scattered just right, I once managed to do an open check for this company, without a helper, when the show was on FIVE screens.
A little off topic, but I was wondering if you get to actually watch a movie with any of these shops? It never is clear on the websites.
I've done installs and trailer & lobby checks for 2 companies. And I have also read the instructions for exit polls and open checks, although never attempted either of these because I usually can't get enough shops built up in between the check times to make it worth the time spent. All the instructions have clearly stated that you DO NOT get to stay and watch the feature.
Darn. The jobs I've seen don't seem to be worth the effort if you don't get to watch a movie.
That really depends on the shop. There are shops where you are required to take someone with you and both of you can watch the movie because there are some aspects of the movie presentation which you have to evaluate. They are usually covert. There are shops where you are not allowed to see the movie. There are shops where you pay the first and last show and you can watch the movie. You are of course reimbursed for those fees. Check your guidelines or ask your schedulers before you go.
