Helion Audits

Does anyone know anything about the audits that they offer? I recently signed up for the MSC. Before I take a job, I'd like to know what it entails.

They are computer processor and marketing audits in big box stores. You need to take pictures, count computers with different processors, check marketing materials, etc. There is no reports to write, mainly numbers and pictures.
Have you worked for them and gotten paid before? I see that you are a new participant to this Forum. It is a little odd that you chose only this post to comment on.

They are hitting me hard to do shops and want to pay $37.77 to do 1 location? I do other shops for this retailer thru an American company and they pay 15 bucks. Something does not seem right with this company. They suddenly have a ton of shops at all these well-known retailers and pay over double the normal fees? Plus they are out of Belgium. So, there is no recourse if they do not pay.

They want me to do web shops and I am a little leery to spend the time and not get paid.

Does anyone else have experience with them?

Leslie, Jamal is not a new Forum member. He has been on the forum for 2 years. He's a new participant to this thread, and a man of few words--he's only posted 5 times in 2 years.
The guidelines are like 30 plus pages. The report is very detailed with required photos and detailed accurate counts. You have to take a test on the guidelines which you can only get thru by reading the guidelines. Well there may be no narrative if you don't get counts and enough pictures to their liking I have heard they wont pay. I look for the locations I know have closed or moved go to old location and take picture(s) to prove they are closed. You get half the fee and it takes 5 minutes on site and 3 minutes to report. The actual report an audit would take 45 minutes to an hour or longer depending upon experience doing them. Just not worth it to me. I like my half the fee and happily pick out the closed location.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
They did not have a "save" on the report 6 years ago, and I took lots of notes instead of carrying a print-out form. The actual time in store taking notes on printers was way too long for the money, and then I timed out on the report and lost everything. I called their office and said "sorry, it's been too much." I still get shop offers, and some are not too difficult. I hope I can save someone grief knowing about the way I timed out. Love to all, Signed, Night Owl at 10:35 pm
Thanks for the info! I also found some instructions after posting. I think I'll find some other things to focus on.
So, my question is has anyone actually, personally been paid by this company for a completed shop? Since it seems they make the shop impossible to achieve perfection. Thanks for all the great knowledge. I was just going to post on this company when I saw this thread. So sorry for hijacking it like this.
Yes, they do pay. I have done several audits for this company over the last several years. They paid me previously and I am awaiting payment for a shop I just did. I received Euros in my PayPal account. It is definitely easier to do a shop at a store that does not sell a lot of computers. There is also a steep learning curve with the materials to review and required testing.

You beat me to it tongue sticking out smiley I saw a new participant a few days ago who was a 9 year member with 2 posts. They aren't being seen or heard tongue sticking out smiley But I bet they have amassed a wealth of knowledge in those 9 years.

I like Helion. They're generally friendly and they do pay. The guidelines/certification is a PITA though. And it does take time at big box stores to get them done. Taking the requested pictures can be difficult because at some locations, employees hover.

A cautionary note is to keep track of the exchange rate considering they pay in Euros. I was expecting to get paid more than I really did the last time I got paid. It was right when Britain voted to leave the EU. The exchange rate went down. I decided to leave the euros in my PayPal account, hoping the drop was temporary. Nope. In the end, I lost $15 total compared to what I figured I should be getting when I first completed the jobs. I traveled a long distance to do them in the first place, so it was crap for me.
my first 6 audits with them I was paid in full, but more recently I was only paid half for my last 2. the editor was full of it saying there were 4 desktops in one of my photos when there was clearly only 3.

European companies usually pay more than American companies. In most industries, Europeans are more likely to pay someone what they are worth, while Americans tend to pay whatever somebody is willing to do something for, the cheaper the better. I've been working the freelance world for about 10 years, and believe me I'd rather work for a European then an American... They not only pay better but they are more reliable and less likely to pull the rug out from under you, mid-project.
I had Jay's problem. I did a bunch for them. Last number I did they paid half, claimed the numbers were off. They were not. One was a location with very little stock. They told me I was lucky they were paying half. It's the only company I deactivated from.
