Typically, when I received check payments by mail, they almost always arrived on either the 3rd or 18th of each month. With direct deposit, I saw the deposits around the 10th or 11th and the 25th or 26th of each month.
But, those payments were always for work performed and invoiced two weeks past the pay period. So, what I am saying is, work performed and invoiced, for example in the March 1 to March 15 pay period will not be paid until the following month by check on or around April 3rd or by direct deposit by the 25th or 26th of March. Work performed and invoiced on the 15th to the end of March will not be paid until either the 18th of April by check or by the 10th or 11th of April.
This is not an excuse, it is what I have always seen with most paychecks: If you are paid weekly, your first paycheck is a week later, paid every two weeks, it will be two weeks later, every month, a month later.
Does that seem confusing?
