New low for MF?

$0 fee, $5 cafe reimbursement. "Evaluate Booksellers and Music Sellers as well as different areas of the store, the Café, restroom, and exterior signage. You will make a Café purchase and a store purchase at check out. Pictures are required." It's literally across the street and I wouldn't touch it.

I saw that last night, and was going to log on here and make pretty much the same post.
Unless it's a 2-question survey: 1. Did you order coffee? Y/N 2. If yes to Q1, Was it hot? Y/N
I say no one would ever take that job, but as I look now it's off the board, so either someone did or MF decided they were dumb.
If people keep taking the jobs at the ridonkulously low rates, MF will keep offering them at those ridonkulously low rates. If the pay is too low, I let it sit on the board, or sometimes if I am pissed off enough I will explicitly decline it and say the fee is too low (MF lets you do this) or email the scheduler with my concerns.

$5 reimbursement only for a shop like that is a joke. Depending on how much narrative is required, $8 to $12 plus a cafe reimbursement if required for proof of visit. (It's becoming an irritant to me that companies require a small purchase as the only proof of visit but don't reimburse for it, even if it is "only $2" or whatever.) Money talks, B.S. walks.

I just wrote about this job on another thread. In my market it is a $5 fee with no reimbursement. It might be because my local store does not have a cafe. But a $5 fee without getting a reimbursement for something, anything, a cup of coffee AND a muffin at least is yes, crazy. And I did this job a few years ago where I got a fee of $12 or $15....not sure which.
I saw this and wouldn't do it even if I had another shop in the same area. Simply not worth my time.
I had to open this up to see what it was all about because I thought I was seeing things.....$0 Shop Fee $5 Reimbursement. I quickly read it and closed the window.
I saw this and thought the same thing! I have a shop where I have to go right past this place and I am not even considering stopping! Ridiculous!
I think it is perfectly reasonable for them to ask me to make several observations, do interactions at the cafe AND at the bookstore register, take photos, and purge all of this info into a report and all I get in return is a free drink..........

I just logged onto this forum to start a thread on this very topic. There were three in my area yesterday and they are gone today! Crazy!
Maybe they were like me and wanted the toll reimbursements? Sometimes having those $8-$20 reimbursed is helpful to the bottom line grinning smiley

Picked it up before coming on here. Read the requirements and the "make a purchase in the store, you will NOT be reimbursed" and canceled it right away with the "non sufficient fee" reasoning. What the heck is this crap?!?!

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley

Could be. Honestly, I wish more MSCs would reimburse tolls and parking, particularly for assignments where toll roads and/or paid parking are the only realistic options.
This sounds like the equivalent of a grocery store shop. For me, the difference is that the grocery store is to be accomplished efficiently and the bookstore is to be savored. I like to spend time in the bookstore and I happily browse the entire place whenever I can. Mind you, I would be happier if they provided a hefty book or music reimbursement... Just sayin'. winking smiley

Yeah, I used to do this same shop for a different MSC and it was $15. If no one takes it there will be a bonus soon enough.
Farket Morce is becoming blatantly ridiculous with the low pay and silly requirements. They used to account for more than 90+ percent of my shops but now I am aggresively seeking out new MSC's and am loving the higher pay and diverse assignments that come with it. I have cancelled on them because they put a higher paying shop on the same day that I already accepted a low paying shop in order to go for the higher paying shop and the Farket Morce judge and jury wiped out the list of available assignments on my dashboard -- They don't post performance metrics, but when they act against you, you'll know it. I've even beat them at their own game by cancelling same day and reaccepting later in the day when they post at higher rate because they are desperate. They have wiped away alot of my available shops, but, I won't be losing much if the average shop is 5 bucks. You can only put up with $4.25 for photographing a double cheeseburger in your car for so long.
This is why I don't feel bad when they call me and ask me to do a shop. I won't accept a job less than $20 or $25 depending on the time and how far I have to travel. I received a call yesterday and the scheduler was so nervous, I could hear it in their voice. I accepted the job for $18 and they were so happy. It's literally 5 mins from me so I said, why not?
Automation and artificial intelligence is going to push a lot of people into mystery shopping so fees will remain low for the foreseeable future.

Yes. I used to do the awesome bookstore shop where you browsed the store, made some observations and interactions then sat down in the cozy café for a cappuccino and a pastry, all while reading magazines. smiling smiley It DID pay $15 as I recall. Sadly that particular bookstore closed

For these types of jobs maybe. I declined it right away. These churner shops will always be here. They will reschedule them many times, since most of us won't do them.

I just got a nice project. It looks like something I did a few years ago. Lots of locations. Big fees.
When I was a newbie, I did one silly $5 shop. Never again! I don't even read the whole email. Even if clustered in one day, I would not touch it.
Might as well spend my time cleaning or cooking. It is just not worth it.
You must be very special. That's 50% higher than the $2 "special bonus" I am offered.
That is way to low for any shop and no rebusment , how do you make any money with this one.

You are not talking about the grocery store where one has to evaluate the expiration dates on every dairy and bakery product?
Same here. They've been my go to for years, but recently I've been dumping their shops for higher paying stuff on sas boards.
You should see what they want me to do for a supermarket shop. They pay $10.50 reim. only for evaluating 5 depts., the restroom and every person you encounter. After completing the shop they denied payment because I could not locate a cart with a rack on the bottom on an especially busy day...
