Dislike new MF website

I did a gas station in early April and got confirmation it was accepted BUT I got an email yesterday that I didn't submit the receipts so I am no longer able to schedule shops. The app wouldn't accept receipts and I thought I got them done on my home puter.

This is frustrating because you choose edit and make a small change and have to click all the way thru the entire report, clicking each page, all over again.

I agree with you. I don't like it. Everything about it is less user-friendly. I have had trouble every time I have to upload photos to this site. I don't take a lot of MF because of the low pay but always liked the fact that they were very clear in their expectations and the site was easy to use. Now, they have low pay and a difficult site.

I just had an MF shop that wanted ALL the pics that I took on the shop, however, you can only load one pic at a time at the end of the report. I like multiple photo uploads at one time or at least easy access to your photos. This makes you start all over with each photo upload. So, I had to do this 10 times.

Although you ADDED 10 pictures, keep in mind that when you check the assignment at the end. Only one picture will show up. So when they imply ALL, its is better to save until they "personnelly" asked for them if there is a future problem.

While @ferriswheel48, has not been back for 16 days, its analogy is wrong.

@LeslieKay111------>the problem does not exist, if you know what to do. If you have completed the report and you are on the the summary page. And you need to edit. Click on the edit, it will take you back to the question; correct the edit, click on next at the page bottom. (Clicking on next, lets you save the edit). You will be brought to the next question but at the top of this page is the "arrow" format---1---2----3---->click on the CPI or submit . It now is in the "blue" color, no longer grey. And that will take you back to the "Summary" page. smiling smiley

There is a lot of trial and error on this new web page. But once you find out what works--------->its good to go.
My observations about the new website:

Sometimes I had problems completing and submitting the shop. I would have to, "Save & Exit" then go back into the shop to submit. Usually happens after auto spell check. I don't like the embedded scroll bar. It is another step to look at it. I have also found that if I try to save the report as a PDF, I get no data. That just started so now I am saving as html. Also I have to go deeper into the website to change distance. I can change several search profiles which is convenient.

Contact the Help Desk and explain the situation. Email them the receipts. If you've done good work for them, they may make an exception. Grovel a bit.

If I don't answer a question and submit, I cannot fill in the blank and re submit. I have to refresh and redo the test.

I'm pretty sure my problem with the pics is the files were too large. I set my tablet to the lowest pic resolution when I completed several gas station assignments and everything uploaded just fine!
Glad to hear saving as .html works. I have been really frustrated trying to save a copy of my report and unable to do so.

For those of you with photo issues, I use the free download INFRANVIEW. This is a great one to cut what you want and save at smaller size. I never have an issue with my photos uploading quickly with this one.

I hate the map feature even though I can hide it, maybe it would be useful if I was shopping away from my home area. I hate it doesn't save user preferences, such as "hide map" and "number of shops shown per pate". I hate that it doesn't have a page number navigator at the top and the bottom of the search page. I preferred the old method of uploading receipts and photos. I had to click around a while to find the payment history information. The old website was much more straight forward and easy to navigate, but it was (and still is) annoying to have only one survey question per page sometimes. Did I mention I hate the new site?

P.S. to Market Force, I work with a lot of people that could solve all your website problems. P.M. me and I'll be happy to help you change the bent of this thread.
Do you really hate it? smiling smiley
It will save your preferences:

At the top of the page, click on Find Shops
Under FIND SHOPS, IT SAYS..... Search Add/Edit Search Profiles .......Click on Add/Edit Search Profiles
Click on DefaultProfile (or any others you have set up)
There are three columns. The third column has a check box that says "Show Map". Unclick thta!!!!
Click on the greenish box that says Save Search Profile.

NO MORE MAP!

My problem with that is it only allows you to save up to 5 profiles, that I can find so far.
Since I travel a lot, I need way more than that.
My main problem with the new website is that I can no longer move to the next page of my report by hitting the enter key. I was able to do this with the old site. This two handed method saved me considerable time entering reports. Now I am forced to use the mouse to hit on the next page link. I am using Internet Explorer. Has anyone figured out if this is still possible. Perhaps with a different browser or a different keyboard key? I did report this to the help desk many weeks ago when I started to use the new website but nothing has changed.

So, the site I see is the same I've been seeing for months. Nothing is new to me as of May 8th. Does that mean their "new" site that was due to come out on May 8th is the not-so-new, unimproved site I've been working with? Looks that way. They should try it themselves for awhile to see how bad it is to search for shops.

Oh, and now you have to click on am/pm in the reports too where I used to be able to tab over.

MarketForce made Google chrome their browser site. Way before this "new" website, almost four years ago they changed over. I don't know where you have been?!? On any other browser the "click ups" do not match up. While you may enter the website through IE, that browser does not support or work with MF. [/b]

Maybe some of the problems other posters are having is because you are not accessing the MarketForce website through GOOGLE CHROME. Google chrome is the only browser Marketforce works correctly with. smiling smiley smiling smiley

This is my reason why I am not having as many issues with the MF websitegrinning smileygrinning smileygrinning smiley

Chrome does not work fully for me and that is on multiple pc's. I cannot upload a receipt, it just spins. So I have to switch to Safari to do my report and upload. So Chrome is not the only browser MF works correctly with.

Where have I been? I've been right here happily using MF on IE before the changeover to the new website. I don't know what are "click ups" but I don't have a problem with anything not matching up even with the new website using IE. My issue was that I could no longer advance the report using the keyboard enter key. Can you do that in Chrome?
I don't have your problems with MF.

This is on their website------->Welcome to Market Force Information's Shopper Website
This website works best with the Google Chrome Internet Browser.
If you are using a different browser, you may encounter problems with the website's functionality.

So do what works for you.smiling smiley

They've gotten pickier about the written portions of the report. For example, I reported this, and they made me come back and correct two "mistakes" autocorrect detected: "I ordered a cheeseburger without onions, with added bacon and green chiles. When I received it, it was missing the hamburger patty and had onions." Technically, what I wrote is correct, although using the word "it" twice is admittedly clumsy. I had to reword that and also had to change chiles to chile, which makes no sense, since the restaurant menu board clearly states that the customer can add "green chiles." Anyway, those two things seem to be excessively picky for a report with low pay. What do you think?
Agree with you on the chiles. You could have wrote, 'I received the burger with onions and missing the patty.'
or "I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and green chiles. When I received the food item it was a bun with onions, the cheeseburger was missing."
What you can do to get those pictures uploaded... put in the first three questions/answers, and then hit the "view report" on the right column. Move down to the last question, and answer it, click next, and it will give the upload page for pictures. You can upload about six pictures at a time. Even if the picture says failed... wait a minute before trying again, because it might not be failed. Once you have all the pictures uploaded, go back to the questions. Don't link pictures in, and when you are done with the question, and you return to the picture page... there will be a list of pictures to link, just click the dropdown... and it saves a lot of time.
Pictures are expected to be 2 mb or less, check how large your pics are. On today's smart phones they can be as large as 12 mb! Even my receipts are 3.4 mb unless I change the settings on my phone.

Also, you can enter all of the pics first. Go to "My shops", Find your shop and click on "View Assignment Details" and click on "Attach Receipts and Images". You can upload a few at a time. Max wait time is 17 seconds per pic, usually less.

I used Chrome last night for a report and did not see any improvement over IE. In fact it seemed to take longer and I had a problem with a receipt. There was not place to link it after it was uploaded. After submission, I went to the Receipt status link and it says the receipt was not received. I sent an email to the Help Desk but no response yet. Chrome also did not allow me to advance each page of the report by using the keyboard enter key. As I posted before, I was able to rapidly move through the report using this technique with the old website. Now I can only use my mouse to click on the "Next" link to move forward. This is a much slower way to complete the report.
This is not a technical problem on the new site...I just looked at my local list of jobs. There are a number of jobs that say, Retail...the fee is $5 no reimbursement. Some are $5 reimbursement with no fee. There is an address but it is a shopping mall with no suite number so I have no idea what shop it could be. The description says I have to interact with a few employees, take some pics, answer questions. There is no more info except to accept the shop and then release it once I find out. I personally cannot imagine doing this sort of multiple interaction with pics shop for $5!!! And I have no idea how many questions, what sort of place it is etc. I am just basically curious about this low pay for a shop that you need to get to, download pics, speak with several people etc. I don't want them to think I am flaking just for curiosity. Anyone have any idea what it could be...Evidently they are new shops in southern calif.
I don't see those $5 fee jobs where I am but for that amount of money it sounds like too much work. You can send them an email but most likely it will be a week before they get back to you and even then, they probably won't give much information.
Sandyf, if you like books and coffe, its for you, only if youll be there anyway. Call and ask for a bonus.

Thanks, Spicy!! That's a great tip, and I wouldn't have known of it without your post, so thanks!!

(NOW....if there was ONLY a way to default a way to see up to 100 listings at once, instead of having to change it EVERY SINGLE TIME I go on to the site!! Market Force.....can't you make a way to do this????)
I have a shop to do in the next couple days I usually do them between 11 and closing but I might do the breakfast It says 6 to 9:45 You have to be finished and leave by 9:45 is that correct. I was just wondering it will take at least 45 minutes to get to it.
