Market force SSN fax

I was working with them for last 3 months. I was not able to see available shops since last week, so I emailed Helpdesk. I got the reply that I need to fax my SSN as the SSN which I provided earlier was not validated properly. When I said that I have updated on my account but Helpdesk replied that I need to fax.

Its been so long ago since I registered with them, but I sure I didn't fax anything. Requirement may have changed, I would call them first.

Never have received this request is over a year. Normally have a message on the website to update you profile or extended profile when they want information. I would call.
MarketForce moved away from faxing even CPIs and/or receipts eons ago. I'm not buying they now want a SSN faxed to them. Don't reply to the email. Instead contact them directly, either by email to the Help Desk or by phone.

Who actually sent you the email? If you click on the from email address in most mail programs you should be able to determine if it's really from MF. This appears to te a scam.

I work for a major University in Tx and whenever I need to collect a persons sensitive information i.e. social security number we only accept it via fax, hand delivered or snail mail.
Shuchi, that is different than the impression given by your first post. They did not reach out to you unsolicited, the request was because of an inquiry you initiated. You should be fine faxing under those circumstances.

I also was wondering why suddenly I was deactivated from seing new shops. I contacted to HelpDesk and asked directly what was the reason for that. I was told that because of my SSN had some problems after they reported it to the IRS. I recently married and had changed my lastname. They told me if you willing to provide us your SSN by fax, we will return you back to out database but for now you were temporarily removed. So just my advice: if you want to work with them, just do it. The fax is safe and only couple people may see your SSN.
