NSS...Out of business, Owner died/ For recapped short version see pinned thread on page 1 by LisaSTL

I am owed $30. $10 pizza and $20 bonus. 5 minutes from my work. I am not throwing good money after bad.
The people who are owed big money should be more concerned (i.e. actually sending a proper request for payment). All I see are people waiting for somebody else to handle it for them.

Honestly, I don't see this ending well for shoppers. When G3 went out, we were organized and got zilch. I was owed around $1500 from G3, so I wrote it off on my taxes that year as a loss.

My guess is that business has long been wound down.

But apparently not old enough to participate in a civil discussion.

LisaSTL I wrote this reply to you bit it seems it was not linked to your comment you made about ''Old enough to be your Mother'........' ''Old enough to be your Mother'' sounds pretty civil to me for , when out of the blue , you are asked ''how old you are ? '' !...Another come back , someone old enough to be your Mother , could have made would be....'' what does that have to do with the price of tea in China ?''....(you would have to be as old as , old enough to be your Mother, or older , to remember that one :-)

Getting on subject...I worked as a secret shopper for many years for this company and am sad to see that they are no longer in business and even sadder to hear about the owner taking his own life..RIP. Lucky for me it has been a while since I worked for them , earlier in the year, so I am not out any money. Last year I did close to $900 in pizza shops alone ! I guess I was lucky that I had backed off shopping for them because I felt that they had done my wife wrong on a shop they had assigned to her that had a $20 bonus on it. The day she was to do the pizza shop she just happened to find out , while talking to them on the phone about doing a different shop , that the shop had been given to someone else to do ! When my wife asked to talked to the person that had assigned the shop to someone else she was told by that person that they had found a shopper that was willing to do the same shop for just a $10 bonus and that if my wife was willing to do it for just $10 bonus then they would give the shop back to her. My wife said no , that she had already got a confirming e-mail to do the shop for a $20 bonus and that no one had notified her in any way that the shop had been taken away from her. This did not sit well with either of us so we kind of just put this company on the back burner and concentrated on the other 3 companys we do secret shops for. If it wasn't for this , we too would have been owed a lot of money when this company suddenly closed it's doors.

good luck to all of you that are owed money !

And WTF.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I do remember one unpleasant incident where I was just about ready to do a shop, (for MF) when a NSS guy calls and begs me to do a pizza shop. I was in such a hurry, I hung up to do my MF shop when I realized the guy never offered me a bonus! I called back NSS guy and told him he did not offer me any kind of bonus and he said the most he could do is $5 bucks. I told him NSS always gives me between $8 and $15 bonus. He said he could only do $5. I said $10 bucks or forget about it. I got the $10 bucks. smiling smiley but this particular NSS he always had a begging voice and wanted me to do shops with paltry or (none) in bonuses. tongue sticking out smiley
Not relevant any longer.

JAS, the post that OC reported is gone now. It was some sort of SPAM with web sites that had absolutely nothing to do with MS or with this post.
Thanks Guysmom! By the time I came back, it looked like I had an issue with Lisa.......not the case!

I still miss them, they were my best company, always giving me a 20.00 bonus to do my four Beverly Hills jobs on the same day, making my take home pay 160.00 for 2 hours onsite, and doing same shops in another mall for same price, adding a nice monthly fee and jobs I really enjoyed...also did their Japanese BBQ in town, easy report and a great dinner covered by reimbursement. They closed owing me 60.00, and I don't care, the way they had to close was tragic and unforeseen, and I miss them.

Live consciously....

Looks like it is not public information on this forum. The moderator removed the post.

Thanks, moderator!

Yes, I am aware that it was removed. That is irrelevant to the fact that it is public record. I did not realize a mystery shopping board would involve hubris and grandstanding. What would this world be like without the moderator? Thank you for the kind welcome, roflwofl.

Why doesn't Jeffrey have better writing skills?
How does a successful and clearly decorated lawyer have the time or the inclination to be a mystery shopper at minimum wage on the side. I guess Jeffrey does it for the reimbursements like I do.
Any lawyer trying to drum up business in a shopper's forum should post in perfect English.
I suspect Jeffery might be the brother of the Nigerian prince we've probably all been contacted by. Similar use of the English language, if one can call it that.

Hey! I used to work there. About 10 years ago now, but I can hopefully help answer questions. The owner is indeed deceased. The second in command would have been Katy Gravatt. I believe she owned part of the business. I think it's awful that people are out so much money.
Just got notice of chapter 7 bankruptcy for Business Index Group (the actual company he owned...NSS was a DBA).

The notice states there doesn't appear to be any property available to pay creditors.

Guess it's as we suspected..no one is getting money

I also just received the same notice of chapter 7 bankruptcy case for Business Index Group Inc. and NSS.

The meeting of creditors is currently scheduled for March 27th, 2018. There is no need to send proof of claims at this time.
Anyone recall the exact dates/ timeline?

Owner Deceased:
Shops offered and performed until: April (or May?) 2017.
Last checks issued:
Katy Gravatt leaves: February 2017 (part owner/ COO)
