SeeLevel cancelling shops already performed

I completed a shop for SeeLevel on a Thursday. Received email that I needed to resubmit receipt because it was unreadable. I resubmitted on Friday and left for the holiday weekend(Memorial Day). While gone, got another email stating that I needed to take a pic of receipt"on all 4 sides". Not sure what was meant by "all 4 sides", I replied that I was out of town for the Memorial Day Weekend and would resubmit when I got home. And I asked clarification on the "on all 4 sides". Arrived home on Monday night. No reply about my inquiry. So Tuesday morning I sent an email asking if I needed to USPS mail the receipt. The receipt was so light that I could barely read it. And no number of resubmissions via email would correct this. Still no reply. Left home to run errands and when I arrived back home, I had an email from SeeLevel stating that the shop that I had completed(spent $30) had been cancelled!!! What? Because of the poor quality of the receipt, I am penalized $30? I have been mystery shopping for 16 years and have never had this done to me. The right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing with this company. So many different people "not working together".. I will no longer shop this company.

The "all 4 sides" is a new requirement. It simply means the picture needs to be taken so the actual surface used as the background is visible on all sides of the receipt. It sounds like the receipt would have been even more unreadable if you had taken the picture that way.

That makes no sense. I mean i get what they want but calling that "all four sides" is dumb.

Fair point.

See Level is getting ridiculous on their requirements. I still have no had a resolution to my own issue of them telling my POV's were invalid. I double checked everything and it was up to what they asked for. They didn't respond to me at all, instead changed my 10/10 to a 1/10 and cancelled the next shop I had to do for them. At this point they just aren't worth it anymore with their ridiculous "proof" requirements. I had three items of proof I was where they wanted me to be and none of them were ok apparently.
It's been a while since I've done a shop for SeeLevel. I have always found them to be a fine MSC - they just haven't had shops in the area that have interested me.... As I hear of the POV requirements becoming more stringent, I have to wonder what has happened that has spurned such changes. Most likely, the MSC has been burned more than a few times by shoppers trying to cheat the system - doctoring receipts, for instance. I am certain that the vast majority of us are honest, hard-working folks. However, there are always a few jerks in any group that make it more difficult for the rest of us..... We don't have to like the changes, agree with them or understand them. We are given the guidelines and either accept them or leave the shop for somebody else.

This completely reminds me of my parking shop that was rejected recently: I had a cashier's name from his name tag, photograph, and computer-printed name on the receipt. However, this was not good enough because the client also wanted the cashier's signature on the receipt. It was in the guidelines and I did everything else. I simply forgot to ask for the signature. That's on me. I don't have to like it, but that's the way it goes.

Now, I suggest we start a campaign to draw and quarter any and all shoppers who cheat the system and make life more difficult for the rest of us....

You win for "understatement of the year."

I just did a shop for them with the new "take a picture so the background is visible." At least they allow you to upload a picture of half the receipt in case its long. Since they had 2 more spots for uploading I took a picture of the top and one of the bottom of the receipt. My report hasn't been reviewed yet so hopefully that will be to their liking.

I see you started a new thread after your hijack of another thread with your short version of the problem. Did they cancel "shops" or just the one shop? Did you follow the guidelines, as I and others asked, and utilize the new format to submit the additional close up pictures of the receipt?

If a receipt is difficult to read, just ask for a clear copy to be generated. They have multiple registers. Tell them you need a clear copy for your expense report.

I agree that "all 4 sides" is not a very good description. But the MSC does have a couple of pictures in their guidelines where they demonstrate exactly what they want in a picture. Have you gone back and looked at the instructions? It sounds as though your receipt photo was rejected, not because it was too light, but because it was not photographed on a table or bar showing the entire receipt, with all 4 corners of the receipt showing and background completely visible all around the receipt.

If you double check this thread was started prior to the post (that could hardly be called hijacking) in the other thread.

I think the problem is the OP attempted to find a way to rectify the issue and instead of a reply got a cancelled shop.

The issue I have with SeeLevelHX is their seemingly sounds easy credit card shop where they require a POV of the window of a business with the business name and address visible in the digital image. I have been unable to provide this due to the fact that in Phoenix not many businesses are set up this way, so I stopped doing these shops. Luckily, I was paid for all such shops I performed but I didn't want to press my luck so I stopped doing these shops. Crazy.....it really does seem as if the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing and that there is sub par communication in this company.
Hmm I'm scheduled for one of these tomorrow in Chandler. Any advice on getting paid if I have problems with that requirement?I'd appreciate any advice.

I look for any indication of the address in a sign or ad near the entrance. If none exists, I take a photo and put an explanation in the box at the bottom of the report stating that there was no address on the building exterior. I've not had any rejected due to no address in the photo.

One of the biggest problems with this is what if the server doesn't bring back the itemized receipt with your credit card payment? Its easy to fold it in half and take two pics quick at the table, but these receipts can be "CVS sized" so its not really easy to get the "all four" in quickly at the restaurant. I know you can ask for the copy back (I have, say I want to do the survey) but was told by another MSC who originally had this client that that is a red flag and don't do it.

I don't find that to be a problem. When they bring the itemized receipt, I look at it, take out my wallet and remove my credit card, lay my wallet down on top of the receipt, and either hand them or put the card on the table or in the leather holder for them to take. I never have to worry about getting the receipt back. The server doesn't need my copy of the itemized receipt to run my payment. If they do, they can print another copy, and some do that and bring me a second copy with the credit card receipt. Only once have I had a server ask for the receipt to use in processing payment. I gave it to her and she brought it right back with the credit card receipt. If she hadn't, I would have asked.
I always take out the itemized receipt and put it in my purse before putting my cc in the presenter. Never had an issue with that.
What throws me off at this place is they don't use the presenters (at least the 3 I usually hit don't). Usually I do keep it as I can stick my card in the top slot to show that I'm ready for pick up.
It's simple: regardless of how the itemized receipt is presented, pick it up and keep it. The server does not need it back to complete the payment.
