International Service Check

Is there a trick to getting these shops assigned? I have done two for them and both were graded "very good". I am bombarded by emails and when I respond to their "Urgent must be done today" I don't even get a response. Or I will respond with 4 locations that I can do when the email says "the more you do, the bigger the bonus" and then I get a response that they can not be assigned to me because there has to be space in between the shops, therefore I can not do all 4 in one day. Yet the email says "must be done today". I'm very confused. Also when I got that response that all 4 can't be done in one day I responded with just one location and asked if I could just do that one and no response. Yet I'm sure today I will get more URGENT emails. I could see if I did something wrong. I have not cancelled any shops and like I said, the two that I did do were marked the highest mark possible.

All assignments are done through email, so you have to be one of the first to respond, have a good work history, and know the ropes in order to get an assignment. The email doesn't have all the restrictions, such as no more than 1 shop per day, so those who have done the shop before have an advantage.

The schedulers are very responsive. I'm guessing there are a lot of shoppers in your area, and by the time you submitted your request and were notified that all 4 couldn't be done the same day, that all the shops were already assigned. That happened to me, too. Someone (or several someones) who were familiar with the shops knew the shops couldn't be done on the same day, and they requested each shop on a different day, so they got the assignments. You'll know for next time.

FWIW, this company's shops and reports are easy and straight-forward. The schedulers are nice. It's worth hanging in there.
Hmmmmm....... I'm not sure about this, @ChrisCooper......

Oh no! don't tell me this is MSC you've been having problems with all weekend. Apparently they're spending their time replying to me smiling smiley Sorry to hear this. The East Coast scheduler, Christine, is super.
Let's just say that she schedules the West Coast, too.....

All I can say is that my experiences have been great with this scheduler and MSC. Sorry you're having such issues, but from my experience, it is certainly not the norm. I can see how you would be annoyed with them and the situation. I hope there is a high enough bonus for another shop that you give them a second chance. The reports are so easy.
The key thing I'm looking for is integrity. Blunders happen and can be overcome. However, a lack of integrity is simply not worth the hassle. I suspect that she simply did not re-read our conversation threads to realize the situation and, instead, simply responded with the presumption that I was a new shopper and I screwed up. (It was my first shop with the company.) I think this one is going to turn out okay. But, yes, I'm not taking another one with them right away unless a substantial bonus is offered. That was a painful process.

I also have watched the shop list as it's come in email - and it never seems to shrink. So, I suspect that the MSC does not have many shoppers at all in my area. This suggests that there is potentially good money in it for me - and, thus, a reason to be patient and give them another chance....

I never even see any shops on my potential list when I log in even when I receive emails about available assignments. Is that typical?
Potential shops are sent in an email, they don't show up on the website. After a shop is assigned to you, it shows up on the "Open Checks" tab.

The thing that confused me really was that I received the same email with the same shops on it several times and I responded each time and wasn't hearing back but still kept getting the "Urgent - must be done today"
maybe there is a rotation restriction if you have done these before? I have a company that does the urgent thing but I already did that shop once and they make you wait six months to redo. I did it once and they never said there was a problem so I asked. but I still wonder why I can't do other locations. Not I just ignore them.
I delete their emails. No way in heck am I even reading the guidelines for $15. These are shops that take planning. You can't just walk into the stores wearing your jeans and t-shirt on a summer day. They are barely worth it with a bonus.

ETA: Wait. Some are as low as $13, my bad. I just got another email.
Anyone want to tell them that "Accessoires" is not a word?

I get your point, you don't like the shops. To clarify for folks who haven't done a shop for them, the $15 shops are retail shops in malls. I have not needed extra planning or special attire to complete any shop. So they transposed the "i" and the "r" in a email (and it's the correct spelling in their native language). Was that worth the effort of editing your post to point out? Why so much hate?

I don't hate them. They are a waste of my time. I get $40 all day long for those types of shops. I have done shops for them. I don't do their $13 or $15 shops though.
I like them ok. I haven't done a lot of work for them but the times I have I did well. $50-$75 for urgent 10 minute shops.

The majority of the shops they have are sex and age oriented..so am out of them. But recently I got very nice chocolate shop that was near due. I got e-mail about that shop and was able to to it at the same day.

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
This has happened to me twice in the past two days. Urgent shop, same location, make an offer.....I have made an offer twice, asking if it was too high to let me know what they were willing to pay. I have not heard anything back. The shop is near the beach, about 300 miles round trip, and I want a good reason to go!
I got an "urgent - must be done today or tomorrow - make an offer" email from a certain scheduler yesterday. I responded with an offer (nothing outrageous) and heard nothing back.... This morning, I got a personal email from a different scheduler asking if I could do that very shop this weekend. Unfortunately, my weekend is booked, so I offered Monday. That scheduler responded that she'd contact me Monday if the shop was still available....

Be careful what you wish for!
I responded to a coffee shop at large Italian food mall establishment. I got burned by them before for the vague requirements for this shop and some sketchy actions by another scheduler. I took a break from this company for a while and that scheduler seems to be gone so I thought I would would try them again. I have some shops in the area tomorrow so I figured getting reimbursed for a nice coffee and a pastry and another coffee (it's a weird shop) would be nice.

I get that assignment but also another one for the same establishment to visit the coffee shop and gelato stand. The second shop doesn't include tomorrow in the date ranges so I guess they are assuming I can go again later in the week to do a second assignment. Doesn't make sense since that goes against the notes in the guidelines about not doing it if I have shopped it in the last 2 months which I will have if I do the 1st assignment. Or they want me to do both shops in the same day and have a pastry, a gelato and 3 coffees in one visit. I don't think getting reimbursed to make myself ill is a good value to me.

Waiting to hear back from the scheduler with clarification and an explanation for the second assignment. I have worked with them for several years without a single issue and now each interaction with them is a mess of confusion and miscommunication. It feels like something has changed.
I had been signed up with them for probably a year and never heard from them. Then all of a sudden, i started getting emails. My guess is that they lost their "go to" shopper in my area.
I was wondering why I never get assigned to a certain accessories shop for them, after I respond to the repeated emails. Then I saw one clue somewhere: it seems that the shop has an upper age limit somewhere in the 60's, a couple of years below my age. So I think possibly that's the reason, in my case.
Important thing is to take their basic quality certification. This will put you on the top of the list
They only have 1 shop offering anywhere near me. Did it, did great...Now have to wait a year to pick it up again. Scheduler (in the Midwest) was very nice and helpful. She waited 3 months to schedule me, but did not forget about me. Pay was decent for 20-minute shop and 10-minute report. Paid on time. Wish they had more in my area.
I'm sitting here reading all of this whilst eating $18 worth of truffles I got on a shop this week. So, I'm all hoped up on chocolate LMAO at this thread. (Whilst: in their native language.)

Thanks MikiNV!!!! I signed up with them about a week ago and I didn't realize that to even hear from them I had to do a certification. Thanks for the information.

What's done is done. An egg cracked cannot be cured.
There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
I've done a few shops for them and enjoyed them. Two days ago I got an email with a long list and I responded saying I was interested in one of them. Neither the list nor my email specified anything about a date. (It was their regular list, not one of their "emergency shop must be done today" emails.)

I was then assigned the shop for today or tomorrow -- and I can't make either day. I immediately emailed my scheduler, and sent another polite note today, but have yet to hear back and the shop is still on my profile as being due tomorrow. Has anyone had this experience? I'd certainly be ticked if it counted as a "flake" when I had emailed the scheduler within seconds of getting the assignment.
