Goodwin Hospitality

I did a complex telephone bowling shop for them that lasted several days. I followed all the rules and submitted numerous quotes and emails. The report was long and horrible. I received an email saying that they needed me to provide emails that I had already submitted. I resubmitted them as soon as I got the email request. The next day I got an email saying my shop was rejected because I didn't submit the emails on time. WHAT?! Something stinks with this, beware!

I saw those shops but decided not to do one.
Have you tried emailing the scheduler ? Each shop from Goodwin lists the scheduler name, etc. If you did the shop correctly, you should be paid !
I emailed the scheduler and called. I have not heard anything back. The reason for the declined shop was I didn't respond in time, which is a bold-faced lie. And the person who I resent emails to yesterday -- as soon as he requested them -- was not even the one who declined the shop. In my opinion, something shady is going on here... You were so wise to run from this complex, time-consuming shop. I got played, but that is okay because unscrupulous mystery shopping companies will go out of business, eventually.

Well, you are fortunate. Maybe that did that to me because this was my first, and last, shop with them. I bet somebody gets paid for my hard work on the shop. They didn't even have the human decency to reply or own up to their mistake.
I haven't had a problem with Goodwin, except shops for them on ISS has an age requirement which keeps me away....and is...well we all know the word, yes, I know that whole demographics thing, please, seniors eat too..would they stand at the door and exclude us, I think not, our money is as green as the younger folks.

Live consciously....

This does sound like a time-consuming, complex shop and I won't do it. I can' imagine why anybody wants to, but to each his own.

Like pegleg, I've work for Goodwin for years, and Goodwin is not an unscrupulous mystery shopping company. I would re-read the guidelines to be sure you are right and continue to try to contact Goodwin. Goodwin is a member of the MSPA, showing their contact number as 603/223-0303 x132. In addition to contacting the scheduler, I would call that Goodwin extension and elevate your inquiry. If you do not get a response and explanation from the scheduler and/or her supervisor or from the contact point listed with MSPA, here is a MSPA link to file an ethics complaint against a MSPA member : [www.mspa-na.org]

Filing a MSPA complaint may not get you paid, but I bet it would get you an answer. You might also contact the MSPA Board members. Here is a link to the MSPA Board members: [www.mspa-na.org]
Thank you for your information. They are being shady right now with me. I followed the guidelines and resubmitted one email twice. The next day another person with the company emailed and said my shop was declined because I didn't submit the required emails, which I did. They have yet to respond. I will file a complaint now because I worked too hard on that shop.
Sometimes what seems like shadiness or evasion might either be someone still on vacation (we did have a major holiday earlier this week) or simple incompetence. Before filing the complaint, I would call the contact number and elevate the inquiry: 603/223-0303 x132. Since that extension number was provided to MSPA, I would imagine the person at the extension is a decision-maker who could escalate getting you an answer.
Also, in your "Sent" folder of your email, you should have proof right there of the date and time you sent them the information they requested from you.
Thank you all for your help everyone. I called the phone number you provided and got a call back. They are going to look into it...
I wish I'd read this before doing that bowling shop with Goodwin. I just received an email saying my shop was declined. This is the first shop I've ever had declined, respectable companies will give you a chance to fix minor errors especially when it's a downloading of an email. They said my email wasn't in pdf form. So what about the recordings they have and the6 hours of work I put in for $30? You live and learn. I'm contacting the better business bureau.

That's very harsh if the only mistake was a non-PDF formatted file.

This has me worried. I saw the phone call shops, but the description seemed like it would entail more work than it was worth. Last week I took an in person bowling shop from Goodwin through ISS for the same client as the phone shops for $60. I am supposed to go tomorrow, but I am hoping I don't have a similar experience when submitting the report.
I like Goodwin, but I am glad I have not taken one of those shops. I have thought about it.
I've done an in person bowl shop. It went fine. I would do it again. I have done other shops for them and have always felt like they treated me well.
The other shops listed on iSS with Goodwin (and associated companies) which prove problematic are the video oil change shops (major brand) ...I did one (the first, last, and only one) and my video was rejected, as not showing enough detail. Well, it's damn hard to get a good video from inside a car secretly, and almost impossible with the hood up! I am out $50 for that oil change...live and learn....
I did that one and also an actual trip to my local bowling alley. No problems at all. I'm surprised you have had a problem. Go to the company's website and find their customer service link. Couldn't hurt.
Notes on Goodwin, just saying...

this company has a bad reputation about taking a long time to pay/forcing shoppers to hound them for payment
They looked over my shop and reversed the decline. I think it was a matter of miscommunication between staff. I think... Thank you all for your invaluable help. Blessings.
I hate when stuff like that happens. Some of these shops are unrealistic and unreasonable.
I guess that's why we try shops here and there to get a feel for what we like to do and don't like to do. Some people probably like these kinds of shops. Hey, to each their own. At least you will get paid and you know now what this shop is like.
I concur, but never again on that one. I think the in-person bowling shop might be fun. Now, I have to see how the payment process is with this company. I see a bad review on this thread.
Okay, good! I guess these companies have issues sometimes, but maybe that is not the norm.
In addition to reversing the decline - you should ask that any points be given back to you as well. You might have earned yourself another little badge with that shop!
