Seelevelhx Late Payments

Hello, I am a mystery shopper who have done many jobs for Seelevelhx. The company pays, but not mostly it pays you late way after the 15th even it specifically says they pay on or around the 15th. It doesn't say after the 15th. I am upset because I make sure all my shops are completed and submitted by the due date so I expect to get paid on time as well. If we are late on our shops, we can get penalized and given a negative rating.

The shops that do pay on time is Intelli, RBG, and B Business solutions. Those are great shops to contract with and they pay right on time. I am no longer doing shops for companies who pay late because it's just not professional and I hate that you just have to wait until they get ready to pay you. Well good riddens late paying shops, you have lost a great, on-time contractor!!

To be reasonable, if a company says pays on or around the 15th, I would give them at least plus or minus a week. If they are much later and you have to chase, that would be a problem. If you need the money exactly the 15th and they don't pay, then it's your choice not to use them. That's why we are contractors, you pick and choose. I can say I haven't had a problem with payments from them.
I am happy with their payment timeframe. There are hundreds of great companies, the majority of which process payments in a timely manner. You mentioned Intelli, a company that has many issues discussed here often. A slightly late payment is much better than no payment.

Of the many areas I look at, payment timeframe is low on my top 10 list. I've been consistently paid by SeeLevelhx and fairly treated.

Yes, they do pay, but pay when you say you are going to pay. If you are late submitting your shop eval, you will either be deducted or not paid. MS companies should be held to the same standards.

Also, Intelli has always paid me on the 20th as they stated. I have done many shops for them and was paid for every shop ON TIME!! I guess we all have our different experiences. I am just a professional that believes in on time work and on time payments!
You are right, but I have standards and take a company for its word. That is why I make sure all my shops are followed correctly and submitted on time. So I will no longer be shopping for companies that dont pay on time!! That is whats great being a contractor.
Look at it this way, companies have a deadline. But if you have a good record with them, and if you are late one time or need an extension or change a date, that company may help you out. A deadline is deadline but some companies will give some leeway if you need it. You decide what's best for you.
I'm confused by the "late" pay. According to my records these are the dates they have paid me this year, January 16 (1/15 was a Sunday), February 15, March 14, April 16 (which was actually a Sunday), and May 15.

OTOH, looking at Intellishop for 2016 and 2017, pay dates have been anywhere from the 20th to the 22nd. While I am just fine with the 22nd, wouldn't the OP consider that two days late?

I guess every shopper pay dates are different. Some of my pay dates were way on the 27th and as I said some were on time. I am just saying I expect to be paid on time and choose not to shop for any MS who does not pay on time. Now if I am notified that payment will be late, then I am good. I am sorry, I have gotten paid for every shop I submitted on time with Intelli on the 20th and not a day late. But again, every MS shopper experience is different.
I think both Intellishop and SeeLevel pay out everyone on the same dates because I don't recall any shopper saying SeeLevel paid as late as the 27th. It is also possible you didn't do work for Intellishop the same months as me. I don't shop for them every single month. Most of the time it is on the 20th, but if the 20th falls on a weekend the payment will usually be the next business day.

Are you paid by PayPal or check?

Again, I guess Seelevelhx pays everyone differently because several of my shops with them were way passed the 20th and one or two were on the14th and 15th. Perhaps you never had that experience, but dont doubt that no one else didnt have it. Also, I have always gotten paid, so far, on the 20th by Intelli...not a day late.
I have always been paid on the 15th, 16th or 17th except in March 2017, when I was paid on March 27th.
What I said was I didn't recall another shopper saying they had been paid on a different date. I also don't doubt you have always been paid on the 20th by Intellishop because I do not complete assignments for them every month. I can only base it on their payment history with me for the last nine years.

You never did say if they paid you by PayPal or check. If it is by PayPal, have you asked SeeLevel about the discrepancy? Like 7star, when payment is supposed to be "on or about" a certain date, I normally consider within two to three days close enough. If it was consistently 12 days later, I would definitely question them.

With regards to payments, we each have to decide what we will tolerate. Personally, as long as they are not consistently late, or ridiculously late (more than a week), I'm good. I understand stuff happens. I've only shopped with See Level since May so I don't have enough to judge them on. I've been with Intelli-shop longer and I've only had one later than the 20th and the 20th was on a Saturday that month, so I'm okay with that. I use this money as my fun money so I'm don't stress about it. Again we all have to decide what we will tolerate. No one can decide that for you.

It could also be a factor that Seelevel's client could be holding up their end to send payments by a certain date to Seelevel for the completed reports and causing a ripple effort down the line to pay the shopper.
Socal, if you had properly read the information, you would have seen that most of my payments were after the 20th, but one day late without any notification would also be a problem with me because I am all about keeping things professional and on time!!

ICAs, which often where payment terms are listed, are written for the benefit of the MSCs in regards to payment terms. The phrase "on or about" allows them flexibility. In all honesty, if you are going to stop working for companies whenever they pay a day or two later than you expect, your list of available assignments will dwindle quickly. Since startng in this business in 2008, I cannot think of one MSC who has not paid a couple days later than their stated terms at least once. That would include those listed in your original post.

When payments run late the MSC lead person usually informed me and I can respect that. Also, on or about is not past. The on or about from my interpretation means on or close to that specific date, not past. Also, it really doesn't matter if my my choices are low, because I will not allow MSC pay me when they want and not honor the payment specified date. Again, if I am going to be late or can't do an assignment, I notify them so I expect the same professionalism.

I have a full time career, but I am still about keeping work professional and being paid as expected.
The OP obviously is a professional and has high standards. Apparently any of us, that do not agree with their professional opinion, need to check how professional we are or assess our lower level of standards. At least that is how I am interpreting the response to me and a few others, the subtle references and implications being used.

In legal terms, on or about is simply used to prevent being bound to a certain date. Our interpretations are irrelevant. Unlike obligations to an employee, a company has more flexibility about when they pay a vendor.

I guess if thats what you believe, you will never have complaints about being paid late. However, I believe differently and will utilize my choice to not work for late paying companies!!
I provided the legal definition. Our beliefs do not change the legalities. The rest of us do not have unrealistic expectations.

I hope the OP lives in my area. The more picky they are, the less competition for me.

And the professional with high standards doesn't get sarcasm at all. Haha, I'm with you 100% Isaiah. She probably won't be around long, her standards are too high.

edited because clearly my standards are not very high. I corrected a spelling error. Given my low standards, hope there aren't any I've missed......

Not that it will make any difference at all, I agree. Obviously mystery shopping companies hold us to extremely high standards. God forbid you make even the most minute mistake, or even perceived mistake, and the results can be that we are not paid at all. This is a one way street in this regard. I've heard many of the shoppers that have responded here speak of the mistakes in the guidelines, same thing I think.
Spicy, that is my point. If we are held to certain standards, we should also expect them to pay on the date they state you would be paid. Thats all I am saying. It should not be a one way standard or one way expectation. But, at least I have the option to not work for them and I know I am a very detailed shopper with a 10 rating.
@Rotfwolf, most MSC expects for you to have high standards to ensure you produce quality work where they dont have to waste time editing and that wouldbe me. Also, just because this is play money, I still expect to be paid on time. Sorry your standards and expectations are so low.

Also, I have been doing MS off and on for over 7 years!!!

My experience with SeeLevel has been that they are flexible. I have made a pretty serious mistake on a shop, but they still worked with me. I have felt respect and appreciation from this company. For some other companies, all I had to do was question something on the guidelines before a shop, and I am immediately blacklisted. I haven't checked if SeeLevel pays me on a particular day each month. All I know is that for years, they have ALWAYS paid me consistently.
