Service Check MSC

Does anyone on here do shops for Service Check? I signed up with them a few days ago and I'm very frustrated. The only shops available in my area are either for someone much younger than I am, or they require you to have a rating. I know I could handle the shops requiring a rating, but I can't get a rating since there are no other shops that allow someone my age to conduct them. This is very frustrating. Any suggestions? Or should I just delete them from my list?

I never delete a MSC after taking the time to sign up. I don't understand if there are no shops for someone your age or if the only shops require a higher rating? If it is the rating, just keep applying. If other shoppers are out of rotation they will eventually take a chance on you. If the age restricted shops stay on the board with no takers, and you are within 10 years, apply. If the age can be waived they may assign you. The worst thing that can happen is you don't get the shop.

For several years they only had one gas station shop near me. Eventually they added a garden store which I loved plus it had a decent reimbursement and great bonuses. Alas, there was good and bad news about the store. The good news is they were bought out and are now locally owned again. The bad news is they are no longer shopped. It was good while it lasted.

I do a lot for Service Check. There are plenty of shops that do not have an age requirement.
Thanks you guys. When I checked after I first signed up there were about 5 total shops but only 2 different companies in my area. Unfortunately, I'm about 20 years too old for the age restricted shops. When I hit apply for the ones requiring a rating, the system immediately rejects my application for not having the required rating. But I will stick with it for now and see if I might be able to get one somehow.

If you continue to get emails for the shops, that is your cue to reach out to the scheduler to ask if they will give you a shot.

I've only seen them on the job board, I haven't received any e-mails about them. We'll see how it goes.

Proactive vs reactive

Email the scheduler, tell them your issue, ask if they ever have shops that you currently qualify for that you have not seen posted yet and ask to be assigned one of them if so. If not ask for a shot at one of the shops you don't qualify for. Write a very well written email that shows you are professional and have the potential to be a quality shopper. Unless they are very saturated with shoppers in your area they will likely find a way to give you a chance.

Or you can be reactive and just wait.

I work for them doing their grocery, two in my area, one 3 blks.from me. My Editors are very fussy, not a lot of pay and not an easy report, yet I keep doing them....distance matters. They have the same jobs monthly, I haven't seen a new one ever. They are a stable MSC....adding, I have not seen an age requirement.

I used to do smoothie shops for them. Nothing in a long time, but I would never deactivate. They might have something in my area next month, next year, or further down the road. Just doesn't make sense to deactivate. Even in the past when a company has done something that irritated me, I just put them on a back burner but didn't deactivate.
Irene_L.A. , I've done quite a few shops for this MSC and had no problems with reports. But, a few months ago I had all kinds of troubles with what should have been a simple report on a shop I"d been doing for years. I'm not sure what went wrong but if I have to go another round with vague ill defined requests that don't seem to follow the guidelines or sample narrative, I won't touch the jobs again.

I hear you, my last two were also (just bury me)....so fussy, finding fault at everything (I hear you). I am getting paid, but as of now, just don't know what they expect for 10.00.

Mystery shopping is an industry that moves and changes fast! MSCs are constantly picking up and dropping clients. Plus, there a lot of shops that are only done once a quarter or once a year. If they don't have anything for you right now, you never know what tomorrow holds!

Been with them for over 13 years and have done about 300 visits for them. They are nice people to work with. As far as payment for visits: There is one in the SoCal area that pays OK but always seems to be bonused later on. I just wait for the bonus to go up and up and then take the job.
