Sounds legit. I am signed up with Mintel and they have some pretty oddball assignments sometimes. And it came from @mintel.com domain.
It read legit, but sounded kinda scammy at the same time. I didn't want to kill my personal laptop by clicking the embedded links haha.

The weird part is that I am not signed up with them and have never received anything from them before.

Yes, they are a company that does a lot of data collection projects like that. I don't see that particular type of shop on their "open recruitment" section, but maybe it varies by region? Here is a contact that I know is legit. If you contact her, she could probably let you know if this is for real or not. There isn't a lot that I find to do with Mintel, but when I do, they pay well and are great to work with.

Try: Katie at kclemens@mintel.com

ETA: I agree the email address looks good. I'm not sure how to tell if it would actually redirect you to something scammy if you clicked it through the email.

Oh I think that they are an awesome company. I have done a variety of projects for them.
Well, the survey link just took me to Qualitrics and didn't break the computer. That's good. Haha. After reading up, it does sound like they do some quirky projects but a very odd email nonetheless.

That's the link I have for them saved to my bookmarks that I use to login to their site. This is listed on that page:

"For any questions or concerns you can speak to one of our associates by calling either 877-447-1234 or 312-932-0400."

You can always call the number above tomorrow to double check, but I do know that their office is on Wacker Dr in Chicago because I have had to send packages there for mailing shops before. The area code for the number you have is the same and it likely is just a direct line to that person's office, but it wouldn't hurt to call the main number to be sure.
I would recommend you delete most of the email. The disclaimers at the bottom state it is confidential.

Unlike the scams, it sounds like they will send you only $75 up front so you can open the account. All other money will come after completing the surveys, mailing materials, etc. The numbers are realistic. A MSC once had a project testing compliance. Shoppers were sent a $75 check with instructions to attempt to cash it at a specific branch. If the branch refused, we were allowed to keep the check as our payment.

I got an email from the company today re a credit card shop in a bank. They're busy beavers today!

Me too. I got a nice $30 shop. This company is usually so generous there is no need to ask for or wait for bonuses.
I received the credit card email today too. That email came from Erin Delehanty with the same phone number which is in the first post.
Me too, but my state's scenarios were all for customers, and I'm not a customer of any of the banks listed for us. Bummer.
Awww, shoot. I had a choice of customer or non-customer for my state. Someone else in your state grabbed the non-customer one before you had a chance.
Where have you been, MountainCacher?
