Trend Source and Their Insulting Grocery Shop Offers

Why don't you just list it as reimbursement for required purchases at the time it is entered? I have found it easier to categorize money I spend as reimbursed then do the same when receiving a payment. I tend to ignore the amount on 1099s other than checking they don't list more than I made. Pinkerton did that to me once. A job had been cancelled due to weather. I wasn't paid, but they showed it was on the 1099.

You can definitely use coupons on these shops - I do every time! It adds to the value of the shop too IMO. Like it was mentioned, the $9 (or $12 for Boar's Head) requirement is AFTER coupons though. I've had it happen more than once where I couponed better than anticipated and my total came out just under the required amount, so I had to add a candy bar. And I thought...man, I could've gotten 1-2 more [insert item here] for that! Can't complain cuz it's still reimbursed but just funny smiling smiley

I love Trendsource -- at least for me they are very fair with the PAD as well and the schedulers are great. Definitely a company where I've found I got treated well after I've "helped them out" a few times... there are a couple stores here that are hard to fill apparently, and they make it worth my while to go last minute. Main thing about TS is that you do not need long narratives -- literally 1-2 sentences. I've done other grocery shops for less money that want 4-6 sentences for every department and a line-by-line account of everything as well as an overview. TS has most things as fill-in-the-blank and a quick line or two... so I don't know why people complain about them. They cover a HUGE chunk of my grocery bill and I'm glad they have so many stores here.
Reimbursement is just that, and a fee is described as a fee.....you get back a certain allowed amount (9 or 12$)
which you spent, and your fee for the report is 5.00....clear as a bell.

I just got called out for being the shopper. The Manager came running up to me and said, "hi, the only time I see you is when we're shopped". Do you know what shopped means, i am stunned, he's talking really loud, and points to his name tag saying, see, my name is Frank, be sure and give me a good report, Frank. Should I put this in my report, I'm so stunned. He was mocking me..about to write report......help!

Frank played this all wrong. He shouldn't have said anything. He should have just sent his best employee and played along. I had a cell phone shop where the manager knew I was a shopper. As I walked in she said she knew who I was and than the just waved me off. Not a good move on her part. If you know who the shopper is, you can control what happens.
I did one grocery shop where they wanted you to go into each department in a certain order. They also wanted to know what time you entered and left each department. I stopped doing the shop, not worth it.
I put it in the bottom of report and said what he said to me...I'll never go to that store again, don't want to and it's not normally where I shop. Deli was so nice it was a bit sickening, i'm sure he told her when he saw me.....why would he make such a scene.

Some people are jackasses! I'm sorry he did that to you! He should be fired because if he can't handle his emotions in this situation, how is he handling the customer service aspect of his job?

Sicy1..he is an asshl big time....I wrote it in report and I hope he gets fired, but he won't. What was his purpose except to brag he knows the shopper.....makes one happy to be single.

When we were kids our parents called us out on whatever stupid things we were doing. They way they did it was to ask us questions. Do you think, now, that it was a good idea. What would happen if.....? How would you feel about what you did if your friends knew. Etc. This guy's parents must have kicked his ass when he did something wrong so it's a scary adventure instead of an opportunity for growth and better understanding of what his actual job is.

However, it's the Corporation's fault, really, for not finding people in whom those values are already instilled because they can't really be taught, they can only be tamed. I know, based on my retail experience, that this is not the case. They are not hired for those features. The retail industry can be full of spite and vengeance, sometimes, as well as kindness and helpfulness. He's lucky you're not me because that guy would have gotten a big ole' screaming piece of my mind right in front of everyone, I know how to use their intercom system!
I got a email from Trendsource that due to client request my all grocery shops are taken away. I am very upset as I use to do 5-6 shops every weekend. I helped them many times by going as far as 30 miles. Can anyone help me? How can I get the shops again. I never missed the due date.
Irene, I would probably have left that out. They're likely to pull you from all of that client, not just the one store.

"Let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?” ~Walter Williams
I sent in report, haven't heard anything yet.....they need me, i work without pad...haha. They just sent another one to do, and they have to know about this Manager.....We'll see ,wouldn't like to be pulled from all others, but they don't usually do that, just the one you've been spotted at.edited...do they know when they're shopped, sounds like it.

I'm sorry to hear what happened and I sympathize. The grocery company is TrendSource's customer. Even though you have helped TrendSource out by taking far away shops, it sounds like it is the customer, the grocery store, that doesn't want you. If the customer doesn't want you, TrendSource is definitely not going to try to force them to have you. You could reach out to TrendSource and ask if they are willing to tell you why the customer doesn't want you (if they even know, the grocery might not have told them) and if it is temporary or if it is permanent. But that's about all you can do. If I were you, I would resign myself to having lost the opportunity to do those stores.

Why would you be scared? They're only pulling you from one client. The store identified you as a shopper.
They haven't pulled me and above poster said they took her off every store, which make me wonder as i do five. The store hasn't reported me I don't think, the Manager called me out personally....I don't know if they reported me.

There is no guarantee that you can get the shops back. However, you can start by asking the MSC what happened. Try this, "I'm disappointed that I can't do these shops anymore and, if something changes, I would love to be able to do them again. In the meantime, could you let me know where I went wrong? I want to make sure that I correct my mistakes for my future work with you and your other clients. Thank you so much."

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
You should call them, do you have their number? And press extension 123 and ask them what you can do to get back in the program.

And this should be a warning to all of us, that going out of our way, even out of our own pocket to help a msc doesn't guarantee us a thing!
Sometimes, being found out at one store is OK. Other times, you are removed from the program entirely.

I got removed from Papa Johns delivery twice. I waited a year and then removed again. I always gave that location a perfect score. Oh well, maybe they will get somebody who isn't as nice as I am? The store WAS perfect, and they deserved it.
I have been removed from grocery mystery shops only. It was a huge disappointment as I use to take my two small kids. It looks like with experience in mystery shop I will lose my work rather than gaining.
I was in tears when I received that email, as I am working for over an year and never received any warnings or never missed a due date. This will be my first weekend with no shops. I wish I could find a real job where experience matter. Thanks for replying back.

My goodness dear. You need to sign up with other companies. Start with North Fork. They have grocery shops.
I shopped for almost 20 years with two kids. You'll find other work. Sometimes, have their dad watch them if you are not allowed to take them. Their are hundreds of companies you can work for. Trend Source is one of the lowest paying ones. Find something better.
