I did one of those shops yesterday and one at another location two weeks ago. I don't have any problems with the instructions. At these stores they expect, if everything goes as it should, that you will be greeted almost immediately when you enter. What the instructions actually say is that when you are initially greeted and asked if you need help or looking for anything special, you say you are just looking. They want to see if the employee says "okay" and walks away and ignores you the rest of your visit or if they walk away and help other customers but they return to you and check on you. Even if you are "just looking," they are supposed to return to you and ask something like "still doing okay?" or "did you have any questions?" or "did you see our sale items over here?"
or something like that. They are not supposed to ignore you just because you are "just looking." When they return, (or if they do not return you go ask for help), you do the second part of the instructions and let them help you. If you do not do the instructions in that order, you defeat part of the purpose of the scenario so it is not okay. This is a very easy scenario.
Right, you say you're just looking and they say ok, I just wanted you to know we're having this sale...". They check back on you/you go find them and do the 2nd part.
I know my fault I did the shop, But I did not phase it right I said I was looking for summer shorts. I didn't ask for summer clothing so I goofed they asked me to do the shop again. My fault. They put the shop back on board
It actually sound like the fault was not saying you were just looking. Unless I am misreading you posts, you told them right away what you were looking for. The problem is not what you asked for, it is that you did not say "just looking" and wait until your next interaction to tell them what you were looking for.
I get it, Marylo. It sucks to make a goof like that. I've done it, too. The instructions on most retail shops change depending on what the client is currently looking for. My natural shopper inclination is to say I'm just looking, so this was an easy one for me. Other times, I've actually caught myself mid-sentence and restated.
