Exxon mystery shop with reveal

For the one with a picture of every pump, is it ok to put in the security code and look at the actual debrief form? I'm doing the shop tomorrow but I really want to see the form. I should have asked the lady while I had her on the phone but I forgot. I'm trying to figure out if there is an infraction on multiple pumps, do you take a picture of the pump and then one of the infraction for each pump. Does that make sense?
Thanks for any info.

Thank you. Yes they were covered but I must have missed where it said the actual procedure of reporting it. Are this point, I'm doubting these shops are worth doing. The ones I have are bonused but good grief at the material.
You will need to upload the picture of each infraction BEFORE you hit submit.
I like to upload all my pictures at the end but you can't did that if there are multiple infractions.
For example if there are handwritten signs on pump #1, 7, & 9 then you have to upload each picture one at a time while on that question.
Edited because I'm probably not supposed to quote questions from surveys.

If there is a handwritten sign on three pumps, you only need to submit a picture of one of them. You really only need one picture per infraction so you can definitely wait to put all your pics in until you submit the survey and land on the photo upload page.

That's what I thought because of the way the survey is written. The dispenser questions only ask about the decals and osa (I think) so infractions for rust and damage don't go there, correct?
Right. Only the overall dispenser photo (one for each) goes in the dispenser quesiton (the ones asking if each dispenser 1-24 exists).
The infractions go under the specific infraction questions. I find that they accept one photo of one of the infractions even if you select a couple different infractions in that one question, but I often still submit more than one.

I submit a photo of every infraction for every pump. If three pumps had rusty curbs, I take 3 pictures and upload them. You can upload multiple pics, but you do have to do it one at a time. The stations around here have no more than 8 pumps. I don't find the shops onerous at all.
I do the same as I once didn't and was asked for a picture by the editor. The location was an hours drive each way so now I snap a pic of every issue & upload.

i dont upload every extra photo. depends on station & if owner is whiner about audit reports. i keep extra pics in digital folder if needed. if every bollard has chipped paint & dirt & rust they dont need to see every bollard.
Take way more photos than you need. It's better to have a picture of everything (or three) than not have it if an editor comes back and asks for more.
It looks like my first Exxon shop went through without being placed on hold for anything. I have another one today that I think has 4 pumps. It's a ways away so I'll make sure to take extra photos. The only bad thing about these shops is the amount of time it takes the pictures to upload. I don't know what they'd have to pay me to do one with 24 pumps.
only 4 pumps. im really jealous now. slow uploads check to see if sized right. or upgrade your internet speed connection.
The 4 pump station really should have been easier but it was dirty and there was a lady parked at a pump arguing with someone on her phone. For 20 minutes. Loudly. It was actually a little comical. I felt like she was putting on a show for anyone that would watch.
When that happens I take the best picture I can (sometimes two) and explain that the owner could not be found or refused to move. Whatever the valid reason is. They never have an issue with it

That's what I planned if she wasn't done with her phone call before I was done with everything else. She never even pumped gas.
People that park at gas pumps and walk away (into the store, whatever) are my BIGGEST pet peeve of gas audits, BY FAR. I want to stab them all in the eye.

A long time ago I had two pumps blocked by large trucks. It was impossible to get even a halfway decent picture so I hunted down the owners. It was two guys having a long chat inside. They were great about moving the trucks. Walking out with one of them he actually turned around and thanked me. The other guy was talking his ear off and he just wanted to get out of theresmiling smiley

parked at pump on cell phone i knock on window & ask them to move. 98% they apologize & move right away. the 2% of jerks get photos of their license plates taken. that makes them move quickly.
I've never had an issue asking people to move when I'm wearing my yellow vest. The ONE time I forget my vest and have to get someone to move, they're a jerk.
People will trust the authority of anyone in a bright yellow vest.

Well, most of the time that works.

Once, when doing a "Yellow" shop, I did my reveal, put on my vest and nametag and took the picture of the pump. While doing this, a car pulled up to me and I began to be berated by an elderly man for standing in front of the pump and not allowing him to pull up to it.
I explained that I would be finished quite quickly and was performing an audit for the "Yellow" gas station.

"I don't care what the He!! you're doing!" he exclaimed. "This is my godd@mmed pump! So move you're effing @ss!"
I should have just stood there, but being a representative of the "Yellow" gas station and the MSC, I shrugged, finished as much of the pump evaluation and walked away.

I stood a distance away and observed the old fellow pull his car up to the pump, get out and walk inside to the little C-Store. He made some sort of purchase (scratch off lottery tickets), get back into his car and begin scratching away at the tickets. He repeated the procedure at least 3 times.

Finally, he drove away. He never even purchased any gas!
Yellow vest? Am I supposed to purchase a yellow vest? I'm going on my first gas station audit and there wasn't mention of wearing any auditor vests. Now I'm worried.
I don't think it's required for Exxon. For Shell you need to take a picture of yourself in the vest to submit with report.
I wear a vest at every revealed gas station audit. It presents a professional and official look, and it keeps me from getting hit while I take pump pictures!

Yes. Do this even if you don't have to. People will move for you if you have a vest on. You could go behind the counter and steal all the cigarettes if you have a yellow vest on (not recommended). It's ridiculous the authority that thing gives you.

Also, if you go out there and start taking pictures of gas pumps, you're a psycho. If you do it in a yellow vest, perfectly normal.
